A former colleague just stopped in on his '25 CVO Street Glide......it's quite a bike, Brembos, inverted forks, 800lbs and $56K......

He gets a new one every two years......

He then got mad at the cost of diagnostic and repairs so he parked it in his shed for over a year. I’m not sure what happened to it and I never really see him at work so I haven’t had the chance to ask him what he did with it.

You are correct......a '25 Busa here is around $26k before taxes....

His Street Glide is a pretty nice bike but it should be for that price....it's interesting that just the heads are water cooled.....

He was talking performance for a bit and I shut that down by asking if it will outperform the Bumblebee...he smiled and shifted into another topic....

Cooled heads is better than nothing. At least I should see less of those newer ones pulled over on the side of I-95 cooling down because traffic combined with Florida heat was too much to handle on their way to Daytona, specially for that back cylinder.

My friend dropped off more titanium for the '18 Gsxr1kR on saturday.
The axles are from some machinist he knows on FB.
The axle nuts, rear sprocket nuts, and fork pinch bolts are all Pro-bolt.
I also put a Pro-bolt titanium countershaft nut and clutch hub nut on a year or so ago...so he's well over a grand into titanium bits so far.
The axle nuts threaded on nicely, as expected, but I'll measure the rest of the diameters and lengths once I take the old ones out, and weigh the oem vs titanium.
He also got a Corbin seat...which is just over 2 lbs heavier than the stock seat...so he's about a quarter way there to breaking even with the lighter weight titanium, lmao.
The seat is also classic Corbin too...hard as board, like the couple I have had and few new ones that I've sat on, but, after a thousand miles or so they break in nicely, and get alot more comfortable.
I've yet to test ride it.

That's a lot of titanium. I understand the weight savings, but given that the bike spends a lot of time in the garage what's the real benefit? I say that speaking as a person that has multiple bikes that don't get ridden nearly enough.

Ti Axles really help the suspension , and they are worth it if your looking for weight reduction.
While the Corbin seat X's out the weight savaging's it didn't change that the suspension now has less weight to try and control movement of.

Nice to have deep pockets to be able to drop that kind of coin on a bike :-) My pockets aren't that deep but it's still nice to be able to drop 16k on a Hayabusa so life is good. Thank you Jesus

I took my 2022 BMW S1000XR out for around 50+ miles to run some errand, took the scenic route to McGuire AFB in NJ to stop by the library and pickup a few items from the commissary before taking a more direct route home. Nice to get out on a warm spring day.

Lol, how many do you have now?
As c10 said the lighter axles help the suspension function with less weight...but I agree that it's Alot to spend on a small return.
But, this bike is his toy, and he likes to throw parts at it just because.
I also like to play with it, wrenching and riding, and it's free to me, so it's a win win...but I still can't talk him into the Pro-Grip 761's, lol.
He's been talking about taking off the full M4 and replacing it with their full titanium version soon too, I think it's 6 lbs less than the one on it now, or an Akropovic if they have a full ti with cf muffler, we'll see.

Before that he had an S1000R and loved it but his back was hurting so he found it hard to ride....now his back is better and he said he should have kept it as a second bike....

I made that plunge over the years and got rid of my "fleet" and although I miss them, it sure is nice to only have to maintain and ride one bike....I always felt guilty that I was neglecting my bikes by not riding them.....

When I sold them, they all went fast except the Bandit, it was a hard sell....but when it did, the guy who bought it kept in touch for a while and he was absolutely loving it....

He was thinking if he went that route, he'd go with an M1R instead....but he's thinking of maybe going retro with a Kawi 900......
