Decided to add a 2003 Goldwing with 34k mi. to the stable! Found it on CL and rode it home yesterday.

I had my eye on the listing at the beginning of the weekend, and the seller dropped the price by a grand on Sunday evening. I was in the area and decided a road trip with my Pops was in order. After checking it out, I pulled the trigger. From the Grapevine to Frazier, out to the coast and back to the middle of Ventura Co, I’m averaging 38.7 mpg.

I’m impressed by the function, performance and quality of this bike. The GW hype is well earned in my book. After work, I spent this evening changing fluids as an introduction to refreshing the maintenance, as I do to every new to me bike.

There are many cosmetic flaws that I will address once I’m satisfied with the mechanical status of the new road warrior. She is a driver more than a looker.

Another Wing owner has been born. That makes 3 of us so far here. We get to annoy folks that have to listen to us enjoy these tanks.

Welcome.

Congrats, and that black looks really good.
These old tanks are alot of fun to cruise on.
Those adjustable air deflectors under the mirrors are a great mod too.

The crazy buggers , sure are pulling some pretty spectacular wheelies ....and there is lots doing them on youtube to view . I notice the twin mufflers come in handy for makeshift wheelie bars . If you ,( @sixpack577 ) found a set of ti mufflers for your wing , you could put on a spectacular sparking stunt show , and even offer two up armchair wheelie rides for a small fee ....lmao

There seems to be a building trend here for Goldwings. Congrats! Like others have said, great color choice! What options did this one come with?

I can tell you one thing already. When I ask a female which bike she would prefer to be a passenger on, the Wing wins everytime.

So sometimes couches aren't so bad.
And P.S., get a good custom seat made. I am tall and long. My seat maker said, you're going to lose some rear passenger seating area. How much do you want me keep knowing your legs will need to be bent a little. I said, make it close enough the passenger is comfortable, but still have to rub their tits into me.

The seat has been worth every penny.

:-)

At 5'10" I wish my seat was about 1" taller, to take a little more knee bend out, but otherwise the seat is ok, and the highway pegs let me straighten my legs out.

And, contrary to popular belife, the Goldwing is Not just a touring bike...it is an obese corner carving sport utility motorcycle, lmao...I use mine to take the trash off, get groceries and beer, and I just got back from a 60+ mile trip through the woods to Home Depot, for another 5 gallon bucket of Deck Over(not as fun on the Gsxr1k, lol)
I put 5 gallons down on Saturday, then it rained Sunday afternoon until about an hour ago, with more coming soon, and through early Saturday.
So the light rain seemed like a good time to take a half day of vacation and not have to drive my truck in traffic.
So I came home and got the Goldpig/Oldwing, and away in the light rain we went, lol(rain never stops my riding)

Thank you!
Features I’m aware of so far:

ABS
Floorboards/heal-toe shifter
I think everything else is standard Goldwing.

It’s been four days of ownership and riding the GW. More and more, I’m convinced the wing is the perfect complement to the busa.

Spent last night servicing levers, topping off batt/fluids and comparing size.
