So now that everyone’s said “hello”, I figured it’s time to move forward with a new thread devoted to developing and testing my own parts, gathering some real in depth data to aid in better tuning theory, and try some ideas that I’ve had for years now. I feel like Lucy is the best subject I could of hoped for. 14,998 of poor matininance, and abused miles should make her susceptible to engine issues when I start leaning on the tune a bit in stock form.

So I have the kit nearly done. Need to finish welding the air box, upper charge tube, and dump pipes along with make a 3 bar map adapter harness, and plenum straps. I’m getting very excited to try this combo out. I had the pictured turbo on an Intercooled built motor gen 2 prior for high HP testing and was alarmed at how hard the boost hits. So it will be neat to see how that little ball bearing turbo does on a stock compression motor.

More to come soon!

Ive been having a blast with this set up. Haven’t had it on the dyno yet, but I’ve been street tuning it on pump e85 as I go.

One thing about this turbo is you don’t really hear much spooling sound like you do with the RCC Garrett turbos. So I thought this might be fun to take the sleeper approach and do a full exhaust. I tell you what, this thing sounds incredible. It’s slightly quieter then the dumps, but deeper tone and no rasp. And it fits under the factory bodywork.

I’ll switch between the dumps and full pipe on the dyno to see any effects to HP. All also be routing the wastegate back in to the exhaust as well. But that’s a project for another day.

600miles clocked, and finally put her on the dyno. Simply cannot be mad at those numbers at all for a stage 1 set up. The time I invested in the design of this kit shows right here.

Is that kit custom welded or is this an rcc poodle? Next on my list

Thanks, I knew it was gonna do good, but this exceeded my expectations.

And for what it’s worth, I took the full pipe off and put the dump pipe on. HP stayed the same, made about 3 ftlbs less torque in the midrange.
That's interesting....I figured less torque, but no extra horses is surprising.
