My introduction to the .ORG

Here's a quick history of my motorcycle experience.  Bought my first bike in March 2002 after taking the MSF course the previous year.  It was a 2000 Honda Shadow 750 American Classic Edition with 0 miles.  Had it until I upgraded to a 2005 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom in October of 2004.  I put a combined total of about 10k miles on those two bikes before a situation presented itself where I could sell the V-Strom and upgrade to a 2007 Hayabusa.  My first impressions are this:

[*]very difficult to ride at slow (<20mph) speeds
[*]clutch pull gets tiring after a few minutes at a stoplight
[*]seat is really comfy
[*]I'm totally in love with this red color
[*]stock windscreen is surprisingly good on the highway
[*]insane acceleration even under 5,500 RPM
[*]it's difficult to let out the clutch and hold on for dear life at the same time with your left hand

Most bikes with full fairings will have a bit more heat around your legs. You’ll have to wear long pants and ditch the shorts.  

Seriously ride a FJ1300… ouch. The best I remember the ZZR1200 and Blackbird were about the same as the Busa. The busa never bothered me at all.

It is never going to be as easy as the ACE or the V-Strom and neither of these will handle over 80 like the Busa. It is a give in take in the chassis spec, but time will make it better on the slow riding. I teach the msf course and demo all of the exercises on the Busa. Even the u-turn box using the small dimensions you had to test with. It just takes time and practice to develop the skills and learn the characteristics of the bike.

I never thought the stock clutch pull was that bad. Add some HD springs and watch out. I strongly suggest some training with hand grips to build strength in your hands. Work out while you watch TV. This also will make a difference with low speed control and maneuverability as you will be slipping the clutch at walking speeds.

I've always loved the stock clutch, but I came from an 883 Sportster that was nearly impossible to operate in heavy traffic because my left hand would get so sore pulling the clutch in...sounds like you may want to adjust it some; mine is incredibly easy to use...
