Electric car Oh So GREEN Uhm, ??? electricity produced by coal= pollution More than Gasoline.

That is what they would like you to believe, it is not true. There is a scaled down version of a car and a station somewhere here on the internet that you can buy that produces hydrogen off solar cells. I have also experimented with a cell you can make that produces hydrogen as an additive for your car that makes your current gas burn more efficiently. It increases gas mileage 30-40 percent and a byproduct is pure oxygen which actually helps the car run better. It produces hydrogen while you drive. Japan has produced a phototype car that runs on straight water, it produces its own hydrogen.

The guy that brought hydrogen to the public and was working on gas stations that were efficient met a sudden death. Hmmmmm.

A problem with electric cars is the batteries. It cost a much as driving a Hummer in usage of gas and oil to import and export the products needed to make the batteries to put in the cars that save the use of gas. That is why the costs are so high on Hybrids.

Time to embrace the horror. Nuclear Energy is about the most efficient way to produce the electrical energy we need. Unfortunately the public mania about nuclear reactors gone bad has put a serious crimp on expansion activities here in the US. There is a table here that shows we have fewer reactors producing almost identical volumes of electricity than we did in 1994.

I have read that there is a self contained Nuke plant that has a 30 year life span, is fully enclosed, sealed and burried. It was developed in Japan and is designed to power a small city (50K people). Once the power runs out it is done. It is already burried and no recovery is required.

And using solar cells to produce hydrogen is extreemly expensive. Current solar cell technology is running at about 45% efficiency. How much money, space, storage etc. to produce a commercialy viable hydrogen based fleet? C'mon. Seriously ???

Just because the "Carbon Foot Print" isn't in your back yard doesn't mean it is HUGE. How many KWH does it take to charge your Green Machine? And that electricity comes from...? (say it with me...) a Coal Fired plant?

Just because the carrot dangling from the end of the stick LOOKs good to eat doesn't mean that it isn't hanging from the BROWN end of the stick.???

The thing is it does not have to be produced by solar energy. Solar energy produces low power, if solar power can power the production of hydrogen, than other sources can do it efficiently as well with more production the expense of the power needed to produce it.
