My First Ever Speeding Ticket!

I run an escort 8500 and always keep a "rabbit" in front of me. Several occasions THEY got banged. The CHP passed me to nail them.
[/QUOTE]

That's my same M/O as above. A Chippie used me to hide behind, while I was stepping up the pace chasing the "rabbit" he was about to pull over. Lucky me, The CHP picked the rabbit, and not me. I was maybe going 75-80 mph (in a 65) at the time.

When dealing with the police, be "Submissive." Putting your head down in shame is a good act to bow out of a ticket. Play-up the submissive game instead. Being argumentative is a no-no. You need to reverse the psychology if you understand your neck is in the jaws of a lion.

thats why i only ride fast when im with other cops. those badges will get you out of anything(i myself am not a cop) wish i had a badge though

Welcome to the board, dude.

Best to ya' if you "get off." Don't be responsible for your actions, just get a good attorney and get that thing thrown out...

But, you were doing 80 in a 55, weren't you? Kind of like splitting hairs, which pisses me off. How the hell can he know which of you he tagged? That car right beside you might have been doing 80, not you, and he actually tagged the car; you might have only been going 79?

I can't blame ya' for being pissed that he pulled you over and not either of the other two guys, but if you were speeding as he indicated, own the f#ck up to it and pay the damn ticket. You played the game, and you have momentarily lost; unless, of course, you get it "thrown out."

Hey, it's not always that cut and dry. Be responsible for my actions?? As I stated, I had a perfect driving record of over 20 years....that wasn't by accident. This particular 7 mile stretch of freeway has posted speed limits ranging from 45-55. I was actually staying within the limits up towards the end of the stretch were I sped up with traffic! Frankly, I didn't feel safe....I'm going 45 while the flow of traffic is going 70+! Try that sometime. I wasn't playing some kind of game to see if I could get away with speeding there.....plenty of places out of town for riding fast. So, I'm in the left lane, we were probably doing 70+ at that point if I had to guess. I was about a quarter mile from my turn off. I hit it a little to pass the lead car and get back into the right lane....I chose to do that because the last time I looked behind me, there was a car there in my lane...had nowhere else to go if I didn't want to miss my turn off...when I look in my mirror to get over, I'm looking at flashing red and blue lights! You fellow busa owners know that you can jump up 10mph if you sneeze wrong...doesn't take much! Was I speeding at that point...sure! Were there in fact 2 other cars at least speeding as well....sure! My point is....don't pull anyone over or pull us ALL over (which I have seen done..)....I would have accepted getting pulled over with a warning.......but, to just pull my behind over and slip me a $390 ticket out of the bunch I feel is BS! My other point is, should we try to adhere to the posted speed limits even when it's potentially dangerous!? (i.e..you're going 45 while traffic is going 70+!). Well, I was about to rant on about how I feel, depending on the circumstances, speeding tickets in general are BS...but, I think I'll stop here!

That's all justification.

I've flown along with the flow of traffic on the 'I' through Milwaukee and Racine before, and I've been pulled over. Twice I was cited; because I was speeding way in excess, and I was on personal time; and Milwaukee County S.D. simply "don't care."

Different opinions, that's all. In my opinion, when you're speeding, you're speeding; and if you get a ticket, get your balls on and pay the damn thing. Doesn't matter how clean your driving record is; apparently all that means is you've been lucky for all those years to not be caught, or when caught ticketed; or have you minded the speed limit all along? Yeah, there's something to be said for impeding the flow of traffic when everyone is flying along, but then, there's also the speed limit, and it's there for a reason.

It'll be interesting see what system the officer was using and if he did lock you in or not.

In any case, if you "get off," all the more power to you. I don't respect it, but then that doesn't really matter. If you're anything like me, you really won't give a sh!t what someone else thinks; you're doing what you feel is in your best interests and standing up for what you apparently feel is right. And there's respect to be found in that vein, though in my opinion, not the other.

You posted up here for support, I gather; however, there's also us critics (apparently just me

), but you'll get that sometimes.

Hey, it's kool. I posted more to get it off of my chest than for support. I mean, technically, you're right. If you break the law, be prepared to pay the consequences. That's one way to look at it. How about this....if 3 guys rob a bank and as a police officer you're able to catch all 3 wouldn't that make since to do that if you're upholding the law and all that? Why grab one and not bother with the other 2? Would that be upholding the law? And what criterion do you use to decide which one to grab? Maybe one has a bigger gun? At that point it becomes a subjective decision. 2 cars and a bike...why pull the bike over? Especially here in Vegas....it is dangerous to ride a motorcycle here.....why?? Cars give NO respect to bikers....now, I'm sure that's true most places..but, it's especially true here! I'd say 80% of motorcycle accidents here (if not more..) are caused by some knucklehead in a car.

Sorry, didn't mean to rant. I respect your opinion. Well, better going...meeting some guys for nice ride....hope it doesn't rain on us! Later!
