I just got my very first motorcycle a 2004 Suzuki GSXR1300 Hayabusa as a late Christmas present. I’m 30 years old and I’m taking the MSF class this weekend. I can’t wait to make new memories and enjoy riding this beauty.

Welcome to the forum @Jaydrick75. You did not mention how you are proceeding but if there is any question for you, take the course on the 200's they offer and not the Hayabusa.

I think the weight of this bike is the biggest challenge, and the course's advice on how to aggressively stop and perform U-turns is particularly applicable to heavier bikes.

2. Congratulations on getting a Busa..
3. Respect her, she will throw you in a heartbeat
4. Ride your own line at your own speed
5. Don't get caught up with the guy at the red light that's revving his engine until your ready, trust me it will end up in a youtube Fail Army video...
6. Enjoy the site, lots of experienced folks here ready to help you make this a great journey for you.

Yes I’m taking it on their bikes to learn as much as I can. They also advised me they had other classes as well after the MSF class so I can get as much knowledge as I can

I do have a question for you. Stretch vs without stretch, from your experience what’s the pros and cons of having it stretched

Stretch is for drag racing(less wheelie prone) or looks.
The longer the wheelbase, the worse it will corner.
You Need the suspension sag set for Your body weight too.

Okay thank you for your information and expertise. What’s suspension sag? And is it easy to adjust the suspension for my body weight? How is that done?

(and it begins ...)
Between this forum and the Internet, I, too, have found answers for all things motorcycle.
May I encourage you to ask here if it is not apparent elsewhere, and maybe even when it is, just to be sure.

A little advice if you want it........

The Hayabusa is a very docile bike that only goes fast if you want it to.........however, like all things potentially dangerous, the draw to make it go fast is strong in most people...

Make sure you have respect for that power....it will eat you up really quickly.
