Is it really necessary?

Service manual says to replace fuel hose, vapor hose, clutch hose, and brake hoses every 4 years. I've looked at the hoses and none of them look bad. None of them are soft, brittle, or greasy. So do you think its really necessary to replace these hoses?

I wouldn't worry about them. I would check them over every spring and fall when you go to store the bike or anytime you have the tank up.

Yeah after a through inspection I would leave them, but like suggested above I would just check them periodically.

+1 on checkup. I would also spray all hoses with a light coating of silicon spray. This will keep them from drying out.!! :colgate:

No, you don't have to change them, but remember the manual is a chart of PREVENTIVE MAINTANCE measures. So, if your somewhere in no where USA and something leeks or burst, DON'T blame the Bike

For me, it's just the cost of ease of mind :beerchug:
