Cap needs some input...

No offense Cap, but I am posting this under the 4th name I have used because the other 3 have been banned from the site. Why? Because I have had the audacity to make fun of people like "Blonde-On-A-Busa." All of the comments that got me banned were offensive only to the people I directed them at, and only because those people have inflated egos, but all of them had the power to get me banned. The internet is about free expression, but you have made a point of making sure this forum is about the expressions YOU find acceptable and no others. Now you're questioning why people are losing interest? Well, at the risk of being banned again, let me leave you with a quote from Shakespeare (I suspect he'd have been banned too): "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

So you admit that your disrespectful to members and people are supposed to just accept that it's okay because you hide behind a non existent freedom of speech on this site? If you would just hold your tongue and treat people with respect then no one would know the difference.. Just because you have a right to free speech you also have a responsibility to sometimes refrain... So you hate the site but yet you keep coming back... Interesting concept...

What we have here is a failure to communicate... We have heard it several times in this thread that members liked the site for the maturity, content and respect that is shown across the board. I do have limits and rules I have set for the mods / admins to use as a guide for the standards we operate by. There are people out there that just don't understand why I won't allow babe shots, why we don't allow cursing all over the forum, why we require respect in communications. There are banned accounts owned by people that just did not want to abide by those basic conditions and want this place to be what they want and not what is good for the community collectively. There are at least 20 other sportbike forums I can think of that allow you to say or post whatever you want with no limits but that is not the forum that we envisioned. It is funny that the people that hate me the most are the most loyal to stick around and post, I see the accounts, I get reports on those that have multiple accounts so I know who they are and what names they have used... Why do they stick around and complain when they can gracefully just leave and go to a site that allows them to behave however they want? because they still see something they want to be a part of even though they try to tell people they hate it...

We have had this disagreement for years and to be honest there have been spinoff websites just because of disagreements with my decisions for no porn or abusive language, other sites have spawned off and they are still out there but for some reason people just won't let go of the org.... So I would close with this statement... I have no problem driving this website into the ground where there is only myself and the mods / admins posting as long as I stand by my values and convictions. I do believe there are countless Hayabusa owners out there that A. Have never seen the site. B. Don't have time for all the social media C. Members that have been affected by life / economy.... I do believe that there are more folks that prefer the site clean and mature with some integrity, character and class as opposed to just another site... I will let the membership decide our fate..... I do remember about 13 years ago when we started and we put these rules into place we were told then by some folks we would never last because we held to these foundational standards.... Over and over the same claim from disgruntled folks but here we are, we have endured, tested, trialed and still kicking while other sites have come and gone.... Members you decide where we go and let this thread help you make that decision, that's why this thread started in the first place...

+1

I would say that I personally "LIKE" and prefer the site to be run like this. I'm on enough sites that have a free for all and it's just ridiculous and you get tired of it.

In my opinion there are many things that are causing the site to slow (and it has nothing to do with THIS site), it's EVERY site I'm on...

1) Economy- people just don't have the extra cash to spend on a bike, car, toy, etc. and/or mods like they may have in the past.

1a) Suzuki- they haven't released a new model or any updates to the bike. It's hard for people to get worked up on a product that hasn't changed. As many know, the BUSA is a love/hate relationship; you are either a fan or you are NOT!

2) Time/Age- people are growing up and life changes. Personally, I have had two kids in the last few years and I just don't have the time like I did in the past for everything I enjoy. I come back as much as I can just don't have the time.

3) Society/Interaction/Social Media- honestly I don't think FB is to blame. Maybe a little but from what I've seen with other hobbies/forums I belong to, ALL have gone down in participation. People just aren't posting like in the past which I think is a direct result of #1.

Personally, I'm more of a go out and do it kind of person and FB, internet, forums is boring for me. Probably why I've never been into the show, bling, pose crowd. If I'm riding I want to go race or do something. If it's a sport, I want to play and not watch it on TV (probably why I don't like baseball, football, whatever). I can only talk about it so much until I just have to get out in the garage and tinker or out of the house period.

I don't think relationships on the site are even an issue. Maybe a few but those people are pretty strong from the get go which is easy to see. Heck, it's the internet,...if you don't have thick skin you won't get along almost anywhere. It's just the nature of the beast/online community, it doesn't matter what your intent, you just can't show feelings without someone getting bent out of shape sometimes. As a matter of fact in all my years here, there is really only one person I had any issues with on this site and he is no longer here. I think most old timers know who, based on him trying to peddle his lies to better his business. But as with anyone like that, the BS caught up with him and he's out of business and no longer around.

Maybe I need to get together with folks and have a Texas gathering? Anyone? Only problem is I just need to find some time...

Most people have better things to do than manage multiple personas on a forum. I find it odd myself that you persist in staying here. You obviously don't like it. Go away.

Maybe it would be helpful to point out the differences. The internet is about free speech, but this a privately owned board and as such there is no free speech. The real world is about free speech, but come into my home and be disrespectful and see what happens, no difference. Research complete, more to come.......

Just so there are no questions, Dallas Busa was banned because we were able to determine what other accounts he had and why he was banned in the first place. NOT because of his comments in this thread.

Thank you,

twotone

I was introduced to this forum by twotonevert via another Suzuki brand forum I was a member of. When I purchased my 2007 and announced it on that site he eagerly congratulated me and told me about the oRg. to better my Busa experience! I have always loved this site and even if I disappear for a while I always find my way back! I had the pleasure of meeting cAp at the first Stampede and had a great time! I used participate in threads a lot more and post lots of pics whether it was bike night shots or actual ride adventures; I hope to participate more again! I am a member of about 4 Busa based sites but the oRg. is the only one that has kept me coming back!

I know this doesn't answer your question but I just wanted to express my gratitude! MY Busa is dated and has gone through some changes (some forced some not, lol) but it still puts a smile on my face and keeps me feeling young! I look forward to the day I give my new son his first ride!!

Good to see you posting up sir...

Hey cap! Love the site! Unfortunately I dont have much time with the young kids and all now, but I still try to find my way on here from time to time. Heck I barely even got to ride this year. So are you going to have a Meet n Greet this year? I really miss getting together with the guys and just having a beer. I would host a meet n greet, but there is not much to do here (wichita, ks), especially when it comes to riding. I do believe that money plays a big role in peoples lives as far as toys go. It is a big part of why I have not ridden much this year. I will make less money (like half) this year than I have since i graduated college 15 years ago. And I am sure many more people are in my same shoes. My busa is paid for, so I will not sell her. Even if I dont get to ride nearly as much as I would like.

I truely hope that nothing happens to this site.

Well, I know I"m old as dirt--however--I refuse to sign up for or use facebook. Just my own personal protest. Maybe it has to do with being a high school principal and seeing all the trash and harassment that goes on there. I love this place and mention it to my riding buddies all the time. I constantly learn new things and while I may not post all that often, I do reference it often. As far as the original question of increasing traffic on here--I don't have a good answer for that. But PLEASE org.--don't go away!!!
