Cap needs some input...

Thanks, Captain. I knew about the Instant Message and have used it. I somehow missed the chatrooms, though. What do you think about the ideas about a knowledge base (real data base) or some contests to bring in some new interest (in my previous post)?

We looked at a WIKI in years past and heck we even had a review section set up but there was no interest, our goal was to put a place out on the site where people could put products and PERSONAL reviews but there was ZERO interest... the problem with a wiki or a DB is that someone has to manage it, if you give access to everyone the someone is going to delete or modify someone else's comment or perspective, heck I can't even get everyone to agree on the fastest color....

Here is a link to the review section we put up...

I know I never gave much thought to the forums revenue being driven by search engine results and such. the more posts and pics the more results the search engine hits on right? Most of us have a run of the mill ride that pales in comparison to the other stretched, blinged out show bikes out there so we don't post many pics. Also, our knowledge of the bike is quickly eclipsed by the more senior members here so we tend not to post on technical questions opting to wait for a seasoned veteran to answer instead. I just drop by every day to see what has been posted, who has new mods and just whats going on concerning the Busa. I like the idea of regional get togethers. I have ridden the Dragon but not on the Busa. Would love to get down there for the Bash but the work situation now makes getting away for long periods difficult. Also like the idea of a tech data base and a .Org channel on YouTube. I know most of us would do what ever we have to do to keep the .Org around and self sufficient.

Actually I was referring to a knowledge base for "How To's" and "troubleshooting," that contains only facts or instruction not for product reviews or peoples opinions. I did mention that there would have to be moderation of the database to review any input before it is posted. Wiki's are garbage...I'm talking about a real SQL database. There would definitely be some work involved with the initial set up. If done correctly, I find it hard to believe that there wouldn't be any interest in something like that. But then, I could be wrong... Again, these were all just suggestions and my perceptions offered as input as you requested...nothing more.

And seriously, everyone knows blue/silver is the fastest color!

To CAPTAIN {Doug King} owner of this site... You want to know the truth...I will get banned but you know what? I don't care... You want "input" soo i will tell you the truth...
This site used to be good and it used to be fast.. If you posted a thread it would get buried fast with all the traffic on this site....Doug, you had a lot of good members but you lost most of them and replaced them with new members that really don't know a thing about the Suzuki Hayabusa.... You, Doug King ruined this site and the many moderators just helped you.. Its like walking on eggshells being a member to this site and for gods sake be sure not to say anything bad about the police, even if their in the wrong or thats an automatic ban.... You cant really express yourself on this site as you once were able to anymore...
This site isn't really about the Suzuki Hayabusa anymore, its more about rules, ***** ass moderators and baby sitting.... I bet there are quite a few members here that will agree with me but are to sissy to say anything.
CAPTAIN {Doug Kink} you and your moderators ruined this site, the .org used to be a good fast site but now its more like a morgue, i think you should rename this site to "Hayabusa.morgue" because you lost many good members.....The reputation this site used to have went downhill fast and its still going downhill...You and your moderators ruined this site,, your a fool Doug....

You wanted input and opinions so i gave it to ya..

Im using the quote here so the last post doesn't get deleted. I would like to hear an answer to this post. I have not been here barely a year and I think its a pretty cool place but I want to see this conversation play out.

There's nothing to say beyond the fact that this guy has been banned so many times now, we have all lost count...if it's such a bad site, why keep joining??

I just banned the "member" who posted that, since the Special X account has three posts and was created this week. Not sure what you mean by an answer to this post, but I will say that a disgruntled members who have been banned or deleted carry grudges against cAp and his team because he brings no value to the forum. A shame really, because he is one of the reasons that the Moderators have to react the way that they do. The interesting thing about the back story to this post is in the details. A member with 3 posts and a week old account insists and reiterates (in a less than coherent way) that the problem with the board is the owner and moderators who have dragged the site down. Interesting that the conduct of the site is one of the things that most people like about this board.

So, a member who either has been banned/deleted in the past or doesn't have the testicular fortitude to post as themselves (and I have my suspicions that BOTH apply), wants to claim that the board is a shadow - don't bad mouth the moderators or the owner, or else!

Well, guess what. Members who cannot respect others and conduct themselves with dignity are what causes people to leave, as much as people's disagreement with the leadership of this board... Children who throw tantrums and cannot control themselves don't belong here and it is about as simple as that.

That kind if kiddie crap just kills me...
But as far as bad mouthing the moderators or the owner of this site, well, if and when I see it- I stomp on it; as privately or publicly as is required. It has nothing to do with a power trip, it has everything to do with maintaining an environment that doesn't get ugly, classless and demoralizing.

Just my .02

Queen M,
I went through the motions in order to illustrate to Voodoo why what he saw was a result of Billy's jackassery... So, add one more ban against him...

I really have to respectfully disagree with this guy. I am a member on a number of motorcycle and Hayabusa specific forums and this is the only place i feel like family. I was "punished" over on PB because i was trying to invite racers to a local big dollar bike shootout race at the local speedway. Things like that don't happen here.

What we have here is a failure to communicate... We have heard it several times in this thread that members liked the site for the maturity, content and respect that is shown across the board. I do have limits and rules I have set for the mods / admins to use as a guide for the standards we operate by. There are people out there that just don't understand why I won't allow babe shots, why we don't allow cursing all over the forum, why we require respect in communications. There are banned accounts owned by people that just did not want to abide by those basic conditions and want this place to be what they want and not what is good for the community collectively. There are at least 20 other sportbike forums I can think of that allow you to say or post whatever you want with no limits but that is not the forum that we envisioned. It is funny that the people that hate me the most are the most loyal to stick around and post, I see the accounts, I get reports on those that have multiple accounts so I know who they are and what names they have used... Why do they stick around and complain when they can gracefully just leave and go to a site that allows them to behave however they want? because they still see something they want to be a part of even though they try to tell people they hate it...

We have had this disagreement for years and to be honest there have been spinoff websites just because of disagreements with my decisions for no porn or abusive language, other sites have spawned off and they are still out there but for some reason people just won't let go of the org.... So I would close with this statement... I have no problem driving this website into the ground where there is only myself and the mods / admins posting as long as I stand by my values and convictions. I do believe there are countless Hayabusa owners out there that A. Have never seen the site. B. Don't have time for all the social media C. Members that have been affected by life / economy.... I do believe that there are more folks that prefer the site clean and mature with some integrity, character and class as opposed to just another site... I will let the membership decide our fate..... I do remember about 13 years ago when we started and we put these rules into place we were told then by some folks we would never last because we held to these foundational standards.... Over and over the same claim from disgruntled folks but here we are, we have endured, tested, trialed and still kicking while other sites have come and gone.... Members you decide where we go and let this thread help you make that decision, that's why this thread started in the first place...

I love this site. Do I agree with its rules..... yes. Somebody has to be in charge and make sure people like me don't post krap. The Mods and Admin's do an' exellent job. Is it 100% perfect in everyone's eyes,of course not. You cant please all the people all the time,it just doesn't happen and would also be boring.

Political and religeous threads...I say post 'em up to hearts content. What makes freedom of choice so great? It gives one the ability to read a thread, join in,or just skip right past the title. Don't like who started the thread or what they wrote, you can skip right over it.

First and foremost a motorcycle site. Yes. It is incredibly easy to navigate this site. Just click on the forums for your particular need and it uaually takes about 2 minutes to get your answer. Will you get ruffed up a little bit asking about a TRE? Yes. If you post up that you always ride without a helmet will members chuck some krap at you? Yes,of course they will. Why? I think its because we care.

If this site is "not your cup of tea" you are always free to leave. You don't have to stay, and you don't have to come back under an' assumed name.If you are truely that angry with the site, its members, moderators or its owner...just leave. Its really that easy. Then you won't have to live angry and the admin's wont have to deal with you.

Banning members. I love it. When I ran this place I used to wield that power recklessly. Mostly for my own personal fun. These newer admins dont do that. They are better than that. Is there a member who has been banned more times than yours truley? I doubt it. I have posted some serious Krap over the years. (mostly from a drug/alchol induced stooper) but that is no excuse. Well, somebody has to take charge when azzholes post crummy stuff. I got so bad Doug(the owner) had to fire me(I ran the site for awhile),and ban me a few times. Why? Because I acted like an' azzhat, thats why. I would eventually get over my child like temper tantrum and return, each time trying to become a better member than I was before. If you are not here to have fun,be part of an' awesome group of folks, help out your brothers and sisters when and if possible, then why are you here? Go start your own website full of nekkid chic pictures, hatefull word wars, death threats and whatever else will make you happy. Its really that easy.

What can be done to improve this site? Above, there are some good ideas. For me personally,I dont really feel anything is broken. From a financial stand point the site obviously needs to show a profit. If the owner is happy with the amount of revenue and keeps us plugged in,great. If the bottom line falls short compared to the amount of aggravation he must endour on a daily basis, then we should figure that out pronto.

The bottom line for Ol' Rubb....this is a good site...with GREAT people.

Peace,and keep the RubberSideDown.

Hey cap and Omar, another site I used to go to just sent me an email to check something out. I went there on my phone and low and behold there is a whole new tapatalk! I bought it forever ago for the org but haven't used it since we switched here to forum runner. The new tapatalk is sweet!!! Might wanna check it out!

i will have to disagree with you captain about one part though... there is allot of immaturity on this forum....and its what keeps me in stitches...and makes me feel like family here. the difference is...its done without smut..language...or ill intent. Those who participate do it as friends do and everyone understands its just good old fashion picking on each other the best way friends know how. and that is what makes this forum great. but it also is what keeps it limited. most of your "active" posting is done by those who have actually met others on this forum... want to see an increase in activity... MEET SOMEONE. (this isnt something you or the mods can control but it does add SOOO MUCH to this forum)

Well hello troops....

Sorry I have been away. Many busy and some rough times this year for the Lycan, but I'm still around. So far my biggest regret is not making Mustang's retirement party, for which I am deeply sorry Shawn.

Aside from all this, I looked on here today and felt compelled to submit the following comment.

I don't know who the person was that wrote that scathing commentary about Cap and the Mods, it was uncalled for in a public forum, especially here amongst friends but I will say this.

There are a"few"elements of "truth" within that commentary, and any of us who have been here for a while know the history of people and things....

Doug, here's my thought to you. You created this family, you nurtured this family and ultimately you define what happens to this family.

There's still hurt feelings, confusion and disappointment with some things. I know because I talk to OUR family and I hear it even now years passed.

There is but 1 solution to ensure this site continues to be what it once was, repair relationships, make ammends and welcome family BACK.

No amount of technology can give me what I feel when I see my Org family and get to shake their hand, hug them or just see them smile, technology will always be there but FAMILY is what counts.
