Turbo gen 1 street bike

I picked up a stock gen 1 busa last spring. With plans of putting a turbo on it in the future. Well this winter a follow racer was parting ways with his rcc stage 1 kit and I picked it up. It’s a rcc kit but an older one but still gets the job done. I got it all buttoned up today. But I think the fuel pump is going bad. I got the fuel pressure set at 42 43 psi. So when you turn the key on it pumps up to that and then goes down which is normal. When it’s running it’s sits at 42 psi but when you rev the bike up the fuel pressure drops and never goes back up

I'm ready for a deal like that. Had the chance last year from a member here but was a gen 2 and I wasn't ready. Knowledge is power

@busakiller I don’t believe FMU should see vacuuming don’t see and check valves in the line. Might be your issue.

That’s what I thought too. But I was just following the instructions.

Can see it on the Rcc instructions already installed in line.

That’s funny. Mine didn’t come with that and I bought it from rcc. I will call him tomorrow and talk to him. I did pull the line off and it’s at the correct pressure and hasn’t moved or changed.

Fmu is still used on the stage 1 gen 1 bikes. I was going to go 1to1 but didn’t want to buy bigger injectors and I’m not looking to make big power. Maybe a couple years down the road I might do all that. But right now just looking for a simple set up.

I talked to Richard this morning. They longer need a check valve on that line. You hook it up to a boost source that doesn’t see vacuum.

I try too. Hope to make more trips down this year as long COVID and schedule works out. I won’t be bringing this bike down there for the heads up races

Well bike is all done and I put different plastics on it from a donor bike I picked up a couple weeks ago. Just needs a tune now. Would like to find a single stage lock up for the bike as the last bike I built for a friend the clutch was slipping at 280 whp with ape 60 lbs clutch springs.

Hi. What is your projected HP? I have the MTC Gen 2 with air assist. I do not know if they are even in MTC's catalog yet but I can get a deal on them.

Well it’s a stock motor for now. I would like to see low 300 at the wheel. That should be enough to get this thing flying down the track.
