What do you wear when you ride

I'de hate to see her if she came off...hamburger helper.
Its not worth the risk to me to ride unprotected.. the street is a somewhat of an "uncontrolled" environment. If something goes wrong like something was spilled on the highway you didn't see in time, or, a bike part breaks from fatigue due to the stresses of doing stunts, then, it going to get ugly with all that bare skin. You could actually die from a staff infection resulting from a bad case of road rash... I have seen the pictures of it prior to death... a horrible way to die.

Yes, its fun, yes, it's dangerous, yes, that is what makes it fun!

Want to bump this... Anyone have any experience with Scorpion helmet? I have a pair of Scorpion riding jeans in route to replace my current ones, but know my Shoei 1200 lid is "expired" since it's 5yrs old now although the real reason is I lost weight since I purchased this helmet and it's fitting more and more loose than I prefer/remember.

or

I like the idea of the inflatable air bags and shape of helmet is more my head style. I can fine tune fitment, mainly because I'm starting to wear my eyeglasses with my helmet again after years of wearing contacts ONLY for riding. I feel my glasses would feel more secure against my face.

I'll test fit before purchase, just seeing if anyone else has any experience with Scorpion brand stuff
I've got a few people that use scorpion helmets and I have an old one o used to wear and they are pretty nice. I will tell you not to get too excited about the airbags for fitment as they are known to leak and not lay long. My cousin ordered one for that reason 2 years ago and when it came in one of them had a slow leak so we contacted the seller about trying to get replacement parts and they said it had to be sent in because of where they fit and have to be replaced by scorpion for safety reasons but when they do work it really is a nice feature.

A friend of mine had similar experience. The airbags didn't last long, they started to leak within weeks of purchase. Otherwise decent lid.

I went down once doing about 120mph wearing regular pants and a regular leather jacket, not one made for riding. I only bounced off the concrete one time before bouncing more through the grass and that was enough to rip right through that leather jacket. Offered almost zero protection and taught me a lesson to not ride without proper equipment. This was about 15 years ago.

I still have the same helmet that kept me alive through that crash but it needs to be replaced. It is a Shoei RF-1000 and I really liked it so I have been eyeing the RF-1400 but that price tag has stopped me from pulling the trigger yet. I have a few weeks before the bike will be back together. Currently the engine is on the floor in my garage waiting for the trans to get undercut and shipped back if you haven't seen my "First Gear Issues" thread.

That, and she could just make a mistake.
Bikes are alot more controllable than they look in those circumstances...but it doesn't take much to F up either.
I was amped up on my ride yesterday, starting to turn things up, enjoying the heat, and hot tires.
I started getting bad vibes, so no wheelies(if the mood is wrong, 99% of the time I go home, or don't even go out...last time I didn't listen I hit a deer, lol).
I then left 2 nice "J" shaped black marks in 2 corners. The rear was rebounding too quickly, spun out, and tried to lowside.
After the 2nd time, I realized it was time to Slow Down and go home.
Some suspension tweaks are needed to go with the extra speed, from the better grip in hotter conditions.
But, full gear so no worries, lol.
Headed out again in a few.
