What do you wear when you ride

Long trips, full leathers. Track days, full
leathers. Speed events, full leathers. Local trips, mesh, textile, or leather, depending on time of year. Pants, usually reinforced motorcycle jeans. Footwear, local trips, at least ankle high boots. Hands, always leather gloves. Head, full face.

I was looking for a chest protector, and decided to just upgrade all my armor to the Forcefield Pro X-v2 Air shirt and pants. It's a mesh suit with level 2 CE armor. I like Forcefield for the fact that they master one craft...armor. The suit is very breathable, and once you get moving you nearly forget it's on. Armor stays in place, especially knee guards. My old rev-its would slide and the bands would cut off circulation. Other gear:

6D ATS-1R
Hit-Air vest
Spidi H20 out jacket (brand new with tags on marketplace for $40!)
Old Icon jeans with Kevlar liner everywhere
Iron worker aramid jeans
TCX boots or Reax Fulton WP riding shoes
Bilt max speed gloves, Sedici Bruno gloves, or Joe Rocket cold weather WP gloves.

Looking to upgrade in the glove dept eventually. I used to ride in Kevlar reinforced nomex gloves with hard knuckles (riot control), but glad I eventually went to a more motocentric product.

Want to bump this... Anyone have any experience with Scorpion helmet? I have a pair of Scorpion riding jeans in route to replace my current ones, but know my Shoei 1200 lid is "expired" since it's 5yrs old now although the real reason is I lost weight since I purchased this helmet and it's fitting more and more loose than I prefer/remember.

or

I like the idea of the inflatable air bags and shape of helmet is more my head style. I can fine tune fitment, mainly because I'm starting to wear my eyeglasses with my helmet again after years of wearing contacts ONLY for riding. I feel my glasses would feel more secure against my face.

I'll test fit before purchase, just seeing if anyone else has any experience with Scorpion brand stuff

I‘ve worn DOT and Snell certified Scorpion helmets for years. Their no fog shields won me over and the fit and finish is great especially for helmets in their price range. I also wear eyeglasses and have no problem with fitment.

Full gear here as well AND as equally as important... gear that fits properly too. I went from 220 to 180lbs, cheeped out and did not get a smaller jacket since it technically fit fine length wise. I low sided, the armor slide off my elbow and while it had ballistic material my elbow ate pavement. I did not having riding pants on so knee ate some as well.

Typical attire for me is jacket, gloves, riding jeans and steel toe boots. Admittingly, I wear steel toe boots mainly so my feet stay warm when it's cool out.

Break it down further, I have short gloves (warm weather), gautlet gloves (cool/warm weather) and insulated gloves. Leather jacket and ballastic jacket, both have removably liners. Just 1 pair of riding jeans, but I'm past due for a new pair now that I'm back on 2 wheels.

Anyone recommend some good riding shoes, these steel toes are going to be hot here in a month or so
Was it Joe Rocket Ballistic ?. I've gone down twice with Joe rock stuff on, and both times it disassembled itself. :D Lost skin, the usual stuff. There is one brand I just won't wear anymore.

Now I have low sided in Dainese, never an issue.

I wear ballistic pants and a jacket with full-size gloves no matter how hot it is even at 105*. I drink my hydration bag of 3 liters in about an hour at those temps. I stay cool here due to humidity being from 5-10%. Love the weather in SOCAL, that's why I moved here to spend the rest of my retired days in excellent riding weather. At that humidity, you can use a swamp cooler instead of a/c. My electric bill was $80 a month in the middle of summer with my house at 75*. It's cheaper than you think to live here, yes not on the coast. But here in California City in the high desert, you can get a nice house on a slab for $200k and the property taxes are cheaper than in Texas. Gasoline is $1 more but that's ok since our gen3 gets 44 mpg.

Great to hear! I think I'll give them a go. I wish the caffeine helmet was in matte this time around. Plus the sun visor is really cool.

This was icon brand. It wasn't very fast at all, even with armor relocating itself I'd think it'd saved my skin too at a min... But nope. Now you got me thinking about my current summer jacket since it's icon.

I haven’t tried one with the drop down visor. Others I’ve tried hit my glasses. Since I wear Rx sunglasses all I want is a regular light smoke shield.
