Love the jacket!! I bet you are getting some looks when your out on the street!!!

Thanks..
That Joe Rocket jacket is simply awesome and contrasts well with the Pearl White Busa, I sure get lots of attention on and off the street
SuperBikes are not in big numbers in India, so its got a sheer novelty value here and people can ogle on it for hours together

For starters, i got the following gears :
1. Sparx Blue POW Lid
2. Joe Rocket Hayabusa Jacket
3. Joe Rocket Rider Shoes
4. Joe Rocket Gloves
5. Oxford Paddock

congrats on the new ride, Ive spent a few years in Mumbai/Pune, nice to see the traditional "flowers on new ride" after all these years. I can only imagine all the attention you get with a busa in India.

I also see youre affected with perma-grin, symptoms of a happy hayabusa owner.

enjoy the bike and take care getting on the throttle in India.....things tend to pop outta nowhere.

these new owner threads are killing me ....still bikeless & looking for a Gen1.

Hey Buddy
Thanks for the Perma Grin status
it now forms my status on FaceBook today..
We believe in doing the "puja" and those flowers are a ritual for all my new cars n bikes

The BUSA sure has got tremendous street presence all over the world, but more so in India, which has a low penetration of SuperbIkes

I feel like a VIP being escorted when i ride the Mumbai Roads, as no one overtakes :cheerleader: They seem to be too enamoured by her

Even Bus drivers n trucks give way and then wana follow, lappin up the beauty that she is

Prince of Mumbai

 bet you feel like prince ram of mumbia

 Delbert...
You said it
I did a 25 km drive in peak hour traffic in Mumbai, kinda unavoidable as i had to rush for an appointment and din want to take the car
It surely was a Ride of Prince
People stopping and gaping at the Busa
The Pearl White has got tremendous street presence for sure
But sometimes it gets more than required attention
All in all, worth it i would say:bowdown:

Despoine joins me @ Work

Ram's Log : Saturday - 17.April.2010

Despoine, My BUSA joins me @ Work
I had always wanted to take Despoine to work
Even before buying my first SBK, i was always in the mood to take her out on a daily or alternate day basis : notwithstanding, the practical problems associated with using a SBK daily. But then what are few obstacles, compared to the unadulterated joy of riding.

Saturday was an appointment with an Expat client for apartment viewing. Im a Realtor in Mumbai. He being an old client was in the know of my SBK coming and was very very eager to meet Despoine. He has been riding SBK's abroad and been owner of a Honda VFR. So i had more than one reason for taking Despoine for a spin.

Left home and reached his place @ Bandra at 2.00 pm
The sweltering Mumbai Heat was unabated, but strangely i din seem to notice that at all. After all it was Despoine's first run outside home ground.
The Western Express Highway was almost empty except the Times of India junction at Malad. Good for me that i din have to wait @ signals except the one after Andheri Flyover. It was a smooth ride from one flyover to another till Bandra, cruising on C mode. At first i was apprehensive about the ride as it was the first time ever on the Highway, but 5 kms on and i was quite settled i would say. It ain't the over confidence, but the bonding between me and Despoine that got me into the comfort zone. Din go beyond 80 kmph at anytime. Off course there is a lot of temptation to flick that acceleration, but that can wait till i am more confident of handling her and get over the running in period.

The BUSA sure gets loads of attention, both on and off the road. Hordes of 2 wheelers seem to kinda escort the Despoine on the maiden run. Everyone wana catch up once i overtook them and then once they are exactly behind me, they seem to ride in formation. This also got risky as lot of the road was occupied by the bikes who wanted to glance her on and on, as they manage their rides. Faces filled with awe, surprise, admiration, exhilaration and you name the feelings and it was there. Off course i could not risk observing people's reaction at the cost of losing control over my ride.
But that she has an awesome street presence is an understatement. Maybe the size, the color or the curves ---- it continues to attract attention of one and all. Having been on a bike after a long time, i surely missed the comfort of being in an airconditioned car, with my favorite music soothing me. But astride on a superbike is probably a much bigger event in itself, which overshadows all other shortcomings.

Reached to my client's building and Despoine was an instant celebrity. So much so that i din wana risk leaving her alone in the parking lot and go see the client at his apartment. Called him down and in the meanwhile almost everyone wants to click pics of her. I din want to sound rude, but din want anyone to come close to her, so politely said NO to everyone. My client comes down and he is like WOW... "The BUSA looks Uber Cool in White Man". And im like "YEAH YEAH YEAH" but more Haute than Cool.

We had to go to Powai to see some apartments and he said his car will follow me. SO back on road, Despoine regains the Queen of the Street status and even top end cars wana slow down to chek out my RIDE.
Does that make me Proud or what ?
Naah... i just feel so happy that i am lucky to be riding her now --- everyone's Envy - My Pride.

Reach Powai soon enuf. Now began the Fun....
Most of these High End Apartment Blocks have policy of STRICTLY NO ENTRY for 2 wheelers. So i am told to leave Despoine out of the Gate.
NO WAY i Say... as i visualise that this would be a regular problem
No point arguing with the security guys who are doing what they are supposed to do. Talk on the intercom to a senior guy from security and he comes to the gate in the next 2 minutes, eager to see whats this BIG BIKE all about. The moment he sees it, he asks the security guy to open the gate and even escorts me to a vacant parking space, near the Lobby.
Asks one of the guards there to keep an eye as we go chek out the apartments. When i m back, he asks if he can click a pic from his phone. I say a reluctant yes, provided he is 1 metre away from the Busa.. He complies and gives me a big grin. Next he instructs his guards, that whenever im there next, i be allowed straight into a vacant parking lot.

No major dramas at any of the other buildings as i gain access for Despoine in the podium car parks. My Client is amazed at the attention we get everywhere and i have to remind him that SuperBikes are not a very common phenomenon in India compared to most developed economies.

Finish all viewings by 6 and then head off to JW Mariott, juhu for a meeting. The Powai to Juhu ride is a painful 75 minute experience with heavy stop n go traffic. Despoine gives up lot of heat which is bearable just cos the Riding Spirit is in Top Gear. Reach Juhu @ 7:30
NO ENTRY into JW for her. They say there is a paid car park 300 metres away and i can park her there and come back as no 2 wheelers are allowed inside JW. I am at pain to make that guy understand that this is not a regular 2 wheeler. I ask him to make me talk to some senior guy. There i go again ........

The guy on the other end knows what a BUSA is and says dont worry sir we will surely allow you in. I m asked to take a gate at the North End and sure enough i get an entry for Despoine there and also one nice vacant parking where she would be secure. The guard at the gate offers to safe keep my helmet and riding gloves.

With this peace of mind, i go for the meeting, followed by a delicious dinner next door at Mahesh Lunch Home.

11.15 pm and time to pick up Despoine for the HOME RUN.
Juhu Streets still bustling with traffic of party goers
Its choc a blok till andheri and there after the Link Road looks inviting to open up the throttle.. But me say NO THANK YOU.
I stick to below 70 and it seems painfully slow at times.
But yes, FUN overall
Reach home and need to wait for her to cool down, so i can put on the covers.
Dont wana let anyone come and peep, even if its past midnite.

My wrists were paining a bit and not to mention the back hurts a wee bit.
After all it was my first home RUN... but the joy of the RIDE was overwhelming.

Dozed off real quick

Sounds like you had an awesome day! I know everything comes to a stand still to watch the 2 of you roll past  The Busa demands more respect than most of the 4 wheelers over there, so good for you for getting her a secure parking spot.

Your wrists hurt because you are putting too much body weight on your hands. Work on supporting yourself with your back, stomach, and legs. You should be able to raise both hands off the bars and hold your body position. Strengthening the right muscles will come in time.

Thanks BusaWhipped.
Yes i think i need to work on my riding posture
Which is the best way so that the body weight doesnt come on my hand while riding ?

Dude! Congrats!!! Great write up!!!
Get an aftermarket Corbin Seat and some handle bar risers....big comfort difference!!!
:beerchug:

Thanks BusaWhipped.

The best method is to put a lot of miles on the Busa while being conscious of your posture. I know, its a sacrafice we all must endure

QUOTE]

Im sure improvements can be made to riding position, but having ridden a motorcycle for a few years in India (Pune), a big bike like the busa being ridden slowly in mumbai traffic will cause a few aching joints for a while.

hope you got a masseur handy

dDespoine joins me for the Photography Class today n Enthralls everyone...

Ram Log : 24th April 2010 : 10 :01 PM
------------------------------------------
Weekend was planned to be a fun thing, with Despoine planning to sneak out of the garage for a Quick Run. I had something else in mind. Never to be satisfied with Quickies, i planned an elaborate Day Out with her.
First Stop : Apartment Inspection's with Client @ Powai. She seems to quite like powai. The gothic inspired apartment blocks seem to lure her there again and again. Not to forget the Lush Green Gardens n Soothin Oasis of Greens all over. Remember she was @ powai last Saturday too. Other Suburbs, baring Borivli are crying hoarse over this discrimination. Would wana do justice to all of Mumbai soon and i am sure Despoine would love to tour all of Mumbai. Queen of Roads is what she wants to be.

This time, around a new client who expected me to come in a chauffeur driven car, goes BOOM BOOM the moment he sees Despoine. He din know i had gotten a Hayabusa. Turns out, he is a BIG BUSA fan and that makes him lose focus of the task @ hand. Nudge him gently to began the apartment inspections. Surprisingly today, no resistance for HER to enter the podium car parks everywhere. Just that one request follows everywhere : Ek Picture Clik Karu ?
Cant say NO. But i make sure no one comes closer to her.
Saw 6 apartments and then we go for lunch. Have to ensure that she gets a Nice Parking Slot from where i can keep an Eye on her, while diggin into some yummy kebabs. Takes 15 minutes of wait and requests to some cars already parked in front of the restaurant. Mission Accomplised, we go for lunch and also get choice seats from where Despoine is being watched.
SO a good going for US today. Makes me quite upbeat. Time flies by as i get late for the Photography classes at Khar. Powai to Khar isn't a very pleasant drive and the SUN glowing away to glory @ 3 pm, I get to the classes in 25 minutes. It was a surprise i had planned for everyone at the Classes. Ever since they got the news that i had gotten the BUSA, they were after me to get HER there.... And today i DID just that.

The gloves and Riding Shoes immediately gave my surprise away as their eyes twinkled in JOY of getting to see Despoine in Flesh. After the rounds of Congrats, we got Despoine into the campus of the school with permission. Immediately, complete strangers turned admirers. Ooohs and Aaahs followed. This is the moment they had been waiting for since last 2 weeks. What followed was a frenzy of shoots -- by HOT SHOT PROS.
I did feel quite left out as i din have a proper DSLR to frame her. But no envy : Despoine was the Centre of Massive, unadulterated Attention.
40 mins of clicks and still we din have our fill. Moved her around within the campus to get ambient lighting conditions. Frames upon Frames captured every inch of this Sizzling Beauty. Cant wait to see everyone's pics. Guys please send them soon.....

Class over @ 6.00, everyone wants to hear the sweet melody of the pussycat. Be warned i said... she is a tigress, waiting to be opened.
And she did prove one. Din let the engine go beyond 5000 rpm though.

Astride on Despoine, went off to Fuel her @ BKC. And as luck would have it, the Fuel sign comes on just as i enter BKC. Despoine surely has a timely judgement to head of to the fuel station.
Tanked up exactly 16 litres of Speed 97.... the trip meter read 189 kms since last refill. Just wondering whats the mileage. Not that i care, but helps to know. Any Busa owners here please assist me with approx mileage figures.

The 20 km journey back home took an hour, but whose complaining. Not even the choco bloc traffic around goregaon and malad can fizzle out the JOY of Riding.

As i write this, waiting for Despoine to cool off, i feel so lucky for having got the opportunity to be with HER and own her... possess her... probably among the biggest moments of my life..... :cheerleader:

Congrats again, Ram. I know about sleepless nights. I was the same way the first couple of days after I got her.

She's a real beauty and it's really amazing how much attention she gets. You must be really proud. It's an amazing feeling, isn't it?

Be safe out there, brother.:beerchug:

my First Spin in Town with the Boyz n their wonderful machines....

Ram's LOG : 28 April 2010
----------------------------------------
Wowieee...
Im so excited.......
Monday was my First Spin to Town with the guyz with the litre class steeds... and the smaller ones too (no offence )
Impromptu Trip, planned at the last moment and was originally consisting of my friends
one of them was kind enuf to spread the word around that Despoine is on a maiden midnite Spin
And viola.... we had 7 steeds in all
me on the Busa
Kunal on that immaculately maintained Yamaha RX100
Goldie on his bright yellow cheery Yamaha R15
Anthony aka amit on the haute black Yamaha R15
Anku on his Red Honda 954
Sunny and his Honda 1000RR with those loud n cute sounding cans
Adil on his Honda CBR600 which looks exceptional

What a nite it was

Exploring the near empty roads as engines revved and the cans making people turn around and stare in admiration

Me being a newbie, was sticking to the manuals and driving carefully
The team made sure we were in formation and no one got left behind

The marine drive on Mumbai was a stretch where everyone let go of the throttle and it was a visual delight to see these litre class go vroom..

Then was munch time at bade miyan, one of the hottest Snack point in South Mumbai
[A lonely planet fav. No frills eatery …..heaven for non-veggies…..rolls are the name of the game here….]
yummy rolls were gobbled in no time

The entire crowd there was hooked on to these beauties parked in a row

hordes of people and no one seemed to be indulging into their dinner.
All eyes on these steeds

Time to head back home, but not before anthony aka amit captured the beauties in his frame.

The run back home was quick what with empty streets @ 1

Would have loved to put in a longer description, but need to run for a meeting

Will leave you guys salivating for more

Enjoy the pics till then :
