Well, 1776 was a long time ago and at least the outcome was favorable.....I figure at the time the British were overstretched as they were everywhere in those days and probably couldn't bring the resources to bear in order to take and hold territory....similar to what would happen today if some country tried to invade a large land mass with dense population.
Not really sure what goes on in the White House and unless you are there and involved in the daily briefs or are privy to governmental interactions, I believe everything we read, hear or think is only speculation. Id imagine the job of a country leader is not an easy one for the faint of heart.
Bear in mind there is more to the government than the president and even the president has lots of layers to keep the country on track...nobody does that on their own.
The potus especially in this admin is nothing more than a puppet. The people whose names we don’t know are the ones really running the show. We know a few but not most.
As far as the left and right not uniting to fight a common enemy I wouldn’t be so sure. The only reason the left and right squabbles now is because ‘they’ want us to. The constant assaults from both sides on both sides by the media is keeping us divided and at odds. That’s exactly what they want. To put it simply they don’t want to see black people shaking the hands of white people, they don’t want to see dems sitting peacefully next to repubs. Our division keeps them in power. But never doubt that one day one simple thing may open the eyes of the populace and then both sides will easily unite against that common enemy. That is their worst fear.
I fully believe while Schumer and McConnell squabble on tv to make it look like they are working for their own sides off camera they probably toast drinks with each other and are best friends. It’s all an illusion.
And that is why eventually even the republicans turned against Trump. It’s because he was beginning to expose them for the swamp creatures they are. He was an outsider. He was a businessman. He got things done and showed how easy it was. Whereas the left and right discussed and argued and had committees forever to try to solve one thing he simply walked in and did it. Bam! Done! Next?
