Harley rider at it again!!!!

I find this kinda puzzling because where I live, even the HD guys know that Jap bikes are waaaaaaayyyyyy faster than what they're riding, yet it seems that a vast number of Americans are totally ignorant of the fact that the Japanese have been making better, faster, lighter, more reliable bikes for the past 25 years.

Ok! More comedy to lighten the mood. I had an 01 busa...bought it used several years ago and rode to work often. We had a guy come on with us that looked just like "Al" off Happy Days...he rode a CBRXX1100 "Blackbird"! Totally not what I was expecting from his "look"...but this dude was crazy fast in the twisties!

Now the fun part...another guy that works with us has a Harley Sportster I think it was...and proud of it! Said it smokes anything on the road! So we ask - what kinda numbers does it put out? No bashing...I was actually curious...I just had mine dyno'd at 153hp ~97ftlbs.

He said, well mine aint stock! I took it to the Harley dealer, gave em $7,000 and told em "I want every bit of this put in that motor"...said he had it dyno'd at 77hp when they were finished! no torque number though...said he had like $20,000 in the bike total.

Mike chimed in..whew...! You know what it'd take for my bike to make 77hp? ole dude kinda had the grin like - thaaaats riiiight - then the gut shot...Mike said, "I think pulling two spark plug wires mite get me down to 77hp...and prob make it run like a Harley too!

Just as ole dude was picking his teeth up of the floor, I said you know...I just bought a new Craftsman rider...22hp for less than $1,000.

All in fun though...he started it!!!

:rofl::rofl: That's pretty sad that he actually spent an EXTRA 7 grand on the engine and still only got 77hp out of it.... He likes 7s doesn't he? $7000, 77hp... Hmmmm, I wonder if it was all true....

I'm a patched Harley rider of 39 years. I bought the busa 2 years ago. My 2 Harley's hang out in the garage except for parade days. Guys in my club are in awe that this old man rides a Busa. They all want to have a go at it. The ones i have let ride it come back and hand me the keys saying...'don't make me do that again!'

But it isnt what ya ride it's that you ride. We all talk smack, have fun with it. We all stroke each other here about our beloved Busa...good fun, great bike..we are the best!! Have fun with it!

I went to a road course track day this weekend, guess what? I got nothing but jokes about the Busa...'Hey dude, how's things on the couch?' ... 'How many people does it take to get that fat pig up on a rear stand?' ..'What's that thing weigh, 700# plus?'

My point? i have none. You draw your own conclusions.

A lot of posters here are knocking Harleys, it gives me a good laugh.

A lot of posters on the Harley forums are knockin "Rice Rockets", it also gives me a good laugh.

For me, every bike I have ever had, was the best bike when I had it.

I enjoy all my bikes, just don't have enough riding time.:banghead:

There are certain things you can't do with a Busa and there are certain things you can't do with a Harley.

For me, this is how the week-end went:

Saturday we rode 2up in the Harley Chapter, approximately 70 miles one way for a great free sponsored lunch. Close to 70 bikes, really nice folks, we rode from NC to SC and back. We had a police escort through two of the towns we rode through, had fun with the LEO's lots of pictures and lots of great riding. We are fortunate to have a great chapter here and there are at least two events per month. The County Commissioner is the head of the chapter.

Sunday I rode the Busa, alone, to a nearby state park, about 60 miles there and 60 back, all my leathers on. I must have seen al least 8 LEO's there and back, NC is something else! Coming home a cager came flying past at 80mph, so I tailed him for a while, scanning for LEO's all the time. There was one back road where I hit some nice twisties, probably only 4. I enjoyed the ride and love the bike, but riding a Busa at 60mph in a 55mph zone really spoils the fun. The 4 twisties were real good though.

Next week-end I will be in an off road park with the Husky. It gives a rush like no other, without getting into trouble with the law.:cheerleader:

Moral of the story is ride whatever makes you happy and give others the space to live life the way they enjoy it.

This is a funny post! Ha.. Last week I was stopped at a traffic light on my Cross Bones and a young guy (probably 21) pulls up next to me in his car with the window down. He looks at the Bones and says, "nice bike, how fast does it go?" I told him thanks, and I said, "it might hit 100 but if it did, it would rattle apart first" then I laughed. He probably thought I was being stupid, but I know what my Harley is all about. Some of us get it, some don't. Just thought I would share that with y'all.

Oh i bet that bones would do over a 100 and still hold together. I've had my '96 springer softie up around a buck-ten and she actually was pretty stable....buzzy, but stable.

As long as the road is straight, and the fillings in yer teeth are tight so they don't vibrate loose, over 100 is no problem.

good one Chief!!! this horse has been beat enuff i think

Harley riders know your bike is faster. They don't care. They know your bike is more modern. They don't care. You mean n-o-t-h-i-n-g to them. They'll wave at you, no problem. But you are completely insignificant to them. No, really...

Owned over 40 bikes and had fun with all of them, they were the best for ME at the time and all were the best bikes at the time......................

Well, except for that damned Moto-Guzzi.

I quickly scanned through the posts, I guess I'm the only one who thinks that the "KUM&GO" is freakin' hilarious.

I know my dad's Harley does 115mph .... but it wasnt built for that! It was built for another type of riding and so is the Busa. I have heard it all about the Harley's and the Busa's from all camps... Still makes me  when other poke fun:poke:...especially the rider who doesnt know anything about the field of bikes that are out there!
