This is a good occasion to drag this list out of the archive.

Top Ten Reasons Why BMW Riders Don’t Wave
10. New Aerostich suit too stiff to raise arm.
9. Removing a hand from the bars is considered "bad form."
8. Your bike isn't weird enough looking to justify acknowledgement.
7. Too sore from an 800-mile day on a stock "comfort" seat.
6. Too busy programming the GPS, monitoring radar, listening to ipod, XM, and talking on the cell phone.
5. He's an Iron Butt rider and you're not!
4. Wires from Gerbings are too short.
3. You're not riding the "right kind" of BMW.
2. You haven't been properly introduced.
1. Afraid it will be misinterpreted as a friendly gesture.

hahaha, I wave to everyone... it's the Harley's that don't always wave back... gotta show you how much more cool they are with their loud as --- cans.

sad actually that I have to fight a sterotype when I am almost clueless and just out to have a good time

You should have tried the route I did. I bought an FJR so I had a SPORT Tourer, and a Sport TOURER at the same time. Makes for a very nice pair of bikes. The FJR is no slouch, but the Busa just blows it away in everything but comfort. The Busa is also just my solo bike. Nobody rides with on that bike. I almost never take the rear hump off of it.
