What Was Your First Car?

1994 Ford Thunderbird, 4.6 v8..... My very first paycheck had a Y-pipe installed (fancy term for a hole in the exhaust)

It was ALL THAT and a bag of chips

This is the car that got me a run in with the cops with TBB's daughter in the car :hide:

1978 Dodge Challenger. Picker the orange beast up for $150. Had to put in a clutch, fix rear-end, and an electrical issue with charging system. it was a 1.6L inline 4 (not much bigger than my busa) with a 5 speed. It was slow, no a/c, heat, or radio and was ugly; however, it was mine and paid for with cash. I had a blast in that car learning to power slide around corners on the dirt. I sold her a year later for 300 bucks.

66 Ford truck
390 with 427 low riser heads, and a list of engine mods, around 400hp.
and a 3spd with 3.03?gears:laugh:(I forget the 9" rear end high 3 exact ratio).
A rocket for a big heavy high geared truck, it hurt a lot of muscle cars feelings, and got me my first speeding ticket!

My first was a family hand-me-down that I paid $1,500 for...

Dodge Spirit Turbo

(Picture is not mine but looked just like it except the wheels had black and not red inserts)

My second car that I worked my butt off for was considerably nicer...

The first car I drove was a 1967 merc 390

Loved my old Vega. Bought it when I was in 10th grade with the money I made working at the local grocery store. Paid $800 for it with 60K miles. Sold it for $900 with 120K miles. Only let me down once due to a poor electrical connection on the fuel pump. Great times with that car and the body and paint were incredible.

The black Geo Storm in the garage was my first new car. It's just a few weeks old in this picture...bought it when I was 19. It's been 23 years and I still own it! Time flies...that was my mom's Escort Wagon on the left. Took my driver's test in that car.

Truth be told, this was my first car..mine, not the family truckster. A 74 Olds with a 4 barrel carb.

Loved that thing...

Bark at the Moon Ozzy was the tape deck selection of choice.

Wow, some memories dredged up with this one!

1953 Jeep CJ3A, no top, heater, a/c or stereo and usually didn't have a charging system but with the huge 6v battery I only had to charge it every two weeks. To this day one of the most fun vehicles I have ever owned and perfect for a 15yo kid with the flathead 4 allowing a screaming top speed of 55ish.

Jeez Charlie, I wouldn't even know where to start to dig the pics out...let me think about it...

Lots of cool stuff showing up in this thread. Keep them coming!
