What are you guys using to break/rivet chains?

Been using the smaller of the 2 included pins to flare the rivets. Had it since late 02 and done prolly 15-20 chains and haven't broke it yet. I know that's not what the smaller pin is for but it works and for $10 I aint got nothin to complain about.

ya know i was thinking last night that if that didnt work i could always just cut down a punch at work that is slightly larger than the smaller pin so once the small pin starts the flare i can put in the larger flat punch (or possibly with a little 45 on it) if the small pin does not flare out enough. but rms2005 says hes done quite a few of them with no issues...do you measure the flare...and what size shim is needed to help not squish the o-rings...i got plenty of shim steel so i can custom make that part too.
