it is going to be interesting for a while but it will all work out. I did just hear that Delta plans on up to 9000 job cuts. I've been thinking a lot lately about moving on and this will just make my life that much easier. Look out Maine here I come. Hopefully.

That sucks big time. I'm sick of all these companies cutting jobs and pay right and left and then turning around and giving all the top corporate guys multi-million $ bonuses. I think we should boycott these pos companies and all the ones cutting American jobs and moving to Mexico and India where they can pay workers $4 an hour. Try calling cust. service for anything and if you get to talk to a human being you sure as hell can't understand them.

sorry to hear about your fiance. Without giving any false hope, I know that Delta is changing their flights. They want to beef up their international flights and pull back from the regional flights. We can't compete with the low cost carriers so we are putting more flights on Comair and ASA. Hopefully that will put a higher work load on them so thier jobs will be safe. Good luck to him and you. I hope it all works out for the good.

Pretty soon the only planes in the air around the usa will be commuter type planes all delivering people to very few hubs where they will board the big jets and they will fly either coast to coast or over seas.

Ugh... I don't get that.

I mean, it's not like a company the size of Delta doesn't see the writing on the wall months upon months in advance.... how can they hire someone knowing something like this is looming on the horizon?

jw, I wish you luck again...might be time to rethink career change. The stress of not knowing when the axe may fall takes a toll...I hope things work out for the best.

Vanessa, sorry to hear about your fiance...that is a tough one...

My hubby works for a well-known Japanese company, but I see signs of the unknown lately, so we'll possibly be in the same boat in the coming years...you just never know, do you?

Thanks Michelle!

No big deal as I told him, God knows why He does and lets things happen, although we might not see it or understand at the moment.

Yup...one never knows!

I really don't know what I am going to do if I get laid off. I would like to stay with working on aircraft but it is only going to be small stuff. With all the major airlines falling apart it is going to be a cut in pay and with the cost of living in CA. I can't afford to live there.

Who knows I maybe wrong. I really haven't started looking for something else Yet.

I agree with you. I am seriously thinking about getting out, at least for a little while. They normally give us the chance to take a voluntary leave before they layoff anyone. I may put my name on that and move on. This way I don't have to quit which leaves me call back rights if things turn around. Until then I just have to deal with it and make the best of it. It's still a paycheck for now. I hope things work out for your husband
