I got mine today at the Honda shop here in Lynchburg. I got the Pilot Power Pures and they have the CT's on them. It was 368.45 with tax. It was also with the Dyna Bead Balance. That was removed and installed from the bike. I guess it was a good deal. I didn't get to ride much because of rain but cant wait to try them out.

Make sure you are using the correct tire names? The 2CT technology is in the PR2 tire, but the only tire where Michelin attaches the 2CT to the name of the tire is the Pilot Power 2CT. The PR2 is a touring tire with the higher milage numbers described above. The PP 2Ct is a performance tire that will not yield much higer milage over stock.

What am I doing wrong? I can't get 2800 miles out of a 2 CT. :banghead:

Is your bike stretched, do you put the recommended air pressure {42/42} in your tire.

I have 8,000 miles on my 2ct, gotta get another set soon.

I would think you could get 8K out of a Pilot Road 2 tire, but not a Pilot Power 2CT tire.

In my experience, the Pilot Power 2CT will yield around the same milage as a stocker. (2.5K to 4K depending on riding style)

Disclaimer....:poke:your milage may vary.

Agreed. I got 3000 out of my Pilot Power 2CT's and just 1800 from Pilot Pures. New Pilot Road 2's just went on, so we'll see how they do.

If you got 8000 miles out of a rear 2ct then you had a BORING time. You should see what that thing can do above 4k RPMs.

Have you used the Pilot Road 2...that's the tire the thread is about. Not the Pilot Power 2CT...two different tires.

There is no such tire as the "Pilot Road 2CT" it is the "Pilot Road 2" with "2 CT Technology"

I'll be curious to see if you think they are "sticky enough" for spirited riding. Kevin had them on the pumpkin and you know how hard he rides....I am about to swap out some burned up 003RS Bridgestones for a set of track take off Q2s that still have some life on them.

I have a good set up for tire changing if you are interested. No need to take them to Whites if you don't want too. Come on over and we'll swap them out no problem.

I've had 2 sets of Road 2s on my Gen 1 so far, with great results. Got 5000 miles out of each set (front and rear wore about the same, nowhere near enough left of the front to even think about trying a second rear), and had enough grip for the street. Could use lean angle to the edge of the tire easily enough, but they do feel more sluggish than a Pilot Power. Not really noticed that much until I go from the Road 2s back to a sport tire of some kind, then I can immediatly feel the difference. But they do wear almost twice as long as a Power, so when mileage is the key, they're a very good bang for the buck IMO.

Oh man, I just put Pures on mine a few hundred miles ago. You mean I'll have to change them before I change my oil? Yikes!

Not necessarily. I was particularly hard on that set.

The tire tools are a Harbor Freight Stand and a No Mar demount bar with a balancer.

To my local riders, come on over for a drive in the Shelby anytime...She's big fun.

Not necessarily. I was particularly hard on that set.

Has anyone had a good experience with the Pirelli Angels? I had them on my 06 before it was stolen. Only had 5000 mile on them and they were in great shape with plenty of life to go. I have had friends use them on the 08s and 09s and average 9000 - 12000 miles.

I just purchased the 2011 busa and still running stock with only 500 miles so far. I have not had a problem with the battleaxes that is came with but waiting to see how well they do with some more miles on them.

You fellas looking for the best mileage for the buck, don't forget about Bridgestone's BT023 as well as Dunlop's Road Smart. Both in the same catagory as the Pilot Road 2. Both the Road Smart as well as the BT023 have received great reviews especially in the UK. I have the BT023 as a rear on my busa and it performs very well. However, I have a sticky BT016 on the front. Both the Road Smart and the BT023 are dual compound rears.

Worth a peek! :beerchug:
