We were riding down to a huge safety ride to meet up with a ton of other bikes . Stopped at a red light when another rider from behind took me out and my buddies S1000rr . I am in need of some help . My busa is the 2013 limited yellow . Does anyone know if Suzuki still makes the fairings since it was limited edition ? He took out the left side of my bike , the rear peg , kick stand farings , fender , stator cover . Hit me so bad they all said I spun and was dragged , and the bike landed on my legs . I am scuffed up pretty bad , but my shoulder hurts like a suma***** !

Sorry to hear and hope you're okay?

I'd have the bike and frame checked over to see if it's totaled or not. You don't want to repair a bike that will never ride the same again if something is tweaked. If everything checks out, yes plenty of places to get the OEM fairings. You can order any year/color fairings from Suzuki. Make sure he has good insurance because it's going to be pricey if he took you and an S1000RR out... :(

he had no insurance , and it wasn't his bike is the worse part . We are thinking it's gonna end up in court as of now , but he says and so does his brother that came to pick him up that he will make it right . All I can do as of now is see if he will be a man and own up to his mistake . I know for a fact my bike isn,t totaled , but the BMW may be worse . I just have scratched left side fairings , mirror , fender , and the rear passenger peg hook is gone . My bike landed on top of me as I slid down the road .

Do you have insurance? Hopefully the bike owner does. Cushioning your own bike was a noble gesture! Glad your semi-ok. Get some ibuprofen ready!

Make it right?? Did he get cited or arrested 4 riding without insurance on a bike that wasn't his? I'm not a lawyer nor will I pretend 2 be a Forum judge Judy but there's gotta be a civil suit @ least or against the owner that let him ride his bike. Somebody's liable and needs 2 be held accountable 4 this :banghead:

You will most likely wind up making a claim on your ins. Let's hope he at least pays your deductible.
I'm with Poppy. Very nice of you to jump under your bike to prevent further damage. :)

(Hope that made you chuckle?).

Glad you are alive and here to type and talk is key though. Don't lose sight of that.
Heal up and then go bat him!

There are websites that you can look at the microfiche for your bike and order factory parts for cheaper than if you bought from a Suzuki dealership. Ronayers.com is one I have used and had good luck with. Get that shoulder checked out! I had a broken scapula from an accident once.

Since you weren't at fault, the claim shouldn't go against you if you turn it into your insurance. If Florida is like Texas, it would come out as an un-insured motorist claim and be no fault to you.

However, if he's going to make it right then I would get a copy of everything you need and send him a bill. He's not going to like the cost but should have thought about that before he rode someone elses bike without insurance or a license. I can give you an estimate from RonAyers like others have suggested but you should be able to do it cheaper yourself. If you want to PM me some pics, I'd be glad to give you a rough idea what you will need and price.. ;)

I would give him week to come up with serious dough, if nothin do a insurance claim and get on with it or else it'll just drag on..

Hope your injuries are quick healing - all the best.

Just to give you an estimate, these are retail prices so you can do a little better but this is what the dealer would charge for parts...

COWLING,UNDER L (main yellow piece) $173.67
COWLING COMP,SI (main black piece) $392.69
FENDER ASSY,FRO (front fender) $179.80
FOOTREST ASSY,P (passenger peg complete) $127.59
MIRROR ASSY,REA (left mirror) $74.70

He's looking at $1,000 just for the basics....still need to know if it got the tail fairings or upper nose cone? If so that's another $1k+. Not to mention labor and everything could easily be $3,000+.

Post pics to be sure what you need...

Curious if he offered any excuse as to what happened?
Too fast couldn't slow down and skidded into y'all?
Or just wasn't paying attn, never braked and ran into you?
Experienced rider on somene else's bike? Or a newb without a clue?

My bike had similar damage when I wrecked. Right side fairings, top fairing, turn signal fairing, mirror, R77 exhaust, shifter and footpeg. Parts came to around 4k. Not only did they need the fairing's but all the shields, parts and pieces add up really quick. One muffler for the stock exhaust cost more than a whole R77 system.

First off, glad your OK minus the rash and pain...Hope you got thoroughly checked out medically afterwords...its easy to miss some injuries at the scene due to adrenaline kicked in etc...also hope you carry uninsured motorist insurance...being a recent model year 2013 you wont have any issues finding all the parts you need to put her back in 1 gorgeous piece...heal up fast....

Sorry to hear about your accident but glad you are basically ok.

Get yourself some Serrapeptase, it's a natural anti inflammatory without all the side effects of prescription drugs and it really works. It eats scar tissue internally and externally and clears out your arteries too. It has no known interaction with any other drugs and you could, if you needed to take 30 a day without a single side effect. Go google it then get some.

Get well real soon :)

Thank you guys so much , it's not everyday folks you don't know besides talking to on the net really care . On the other hand I can move my shoulder a bit today . I am mainly worried since the Hayabusa I have is the Limited Edition Yellow that they didn't produce the plastics ! Boy I sure hope so . The guy messaged me today and said by the end of the week he should have a grand to go to fixing it
