I'm also in the auto industry. I liked the product (GM) in the late '70's when I started, but it has evolved into a line I find boring. Every now and then helping an appreciative customer is rewarding, but those instances, sadly, are few.

I am a project manager for a living, and I really do enjoy it. It is all about organization, scheduling, managing..and telling people what to do..:poke:

Honestly, I went to school for structural engineering, with the hopes that I would one day design roller coasters. Life happened and well I got my masters degree in management and Here I am!!!!

I still get to paint and stuff on the weekends, so my creativity isn't lost.

Me too, learnt the skills from my father, but just a hobby, never had the ba:lls to go out and make a business of it.

I hate my job, run a large food manufacturing operation, with 2,000 employees, the money makes the pain affordable though.

I'm doing what I've spent decades training to do. Relocated multiple times to get to the position I'm in today. Hate is probably too strong of a word for my feelings about it, but I do not enjoy what I'm doing. My career decisions were all made based on how to increase my income without concern for my feelings. I don't regret that path I took. I am able to privide a comfortable house for me and wifey. I have a few toys in the garage. And wifey has not had to work outside of the house for a decade now. When she wanted to try her hand at business, I had all the venture capital needed to properly fund her company's startup without her having to worry about the results. But it would be nice to have the income and spend my days on the Busa instead of in the office.

I am in the Automotive industry too. I am a Service Advisor for the Lexus dealership in Austin. I have been w/ Lexus for 7 years & previously w/ Cadillac for 4. I have a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Admin. & worked in restaurant management for 13 years before the hours finally killed me. I am a trained Chef & used to own 2 restaurants of my own. I don't love my job, but the money is good & I do like what I do. I will retire to an island in the future, but I have to have the $$ first.

The woodworking guys are awesome, that is a great skill to be proud of. :beerchug:

I love the group I work with and I love the company I work for even though they've made some bonehead decisions lately. I used to love my job but my responsibilities changed over the past couple weeks, and I'm incredibly frustrated about it now. I'm hoping things settle down soon.

RETAIL FURNITURE/APPLIANCE CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER.

Hate would be a conservative term, to describe how I feel about my job.

For thirty years I have grown in this industry. The deterioration of the quality of the products in combination with the unrealistic expectations of the Consumer, have put me on the "Front Lines" of what could best be described as a "Retail War Zone".

Multiple times a day I am confronted by individuals who believe that they are "Entitled" to assualt myself and my staff both verbally and occasionally physically.

Most are expressing their outrage that they chose to purchase the obviously inferior constructed Asian product, which has usually outlived it's life span...
... as opposed to the products made within North America by crafts peole who take pride in manufacturing a quality product.

I am a Federally licenced Appliance Repair Technician by trade, but took Journalism in College hoping to write for a Motorcycle Magazine.

These days however, the Busa is my self prescribed therapy against the "Post Tramatic Stress" I'm enduring from a life in Retail.

So I just re-read what I wrote.

Holy Grey Cloud.
Sorry Friday afternoons are like that!

Most people would describe me as outgoing with a great sense of humour...

...much like the Girl in those Progessive Insurance Commercials...

...only Male. :colgate:

At the moment I'm jobless. Having no responsibilities would be a great thing if it paid. However, sitting around and waiting SUCKS.

I guess right now you could say I am a professional job seeker.

I have been in the ministry for the past 10 years as a Pastor. Being a pastor has it's ups and downs.
