Dishonorable

Proud Dad,

That is one of the best things I have ever read. I do have my disagreements with some of our things we have done in Iraq yes, but it is my responsibility as a soldier not to voice them and to follow my President.

Break Haters section

I would never ever compare myself to a Vietnam vet because my father is one, and I have never personally been called a baby killer, or been spit on. I do not feel the love of all this support the troops. If you want to do that support AMERICA. He won got voted in so we have to support America, and the president is a direct representation of that. There was a huge surprise amongst the Radical Islamic community when we got bombed on 9/11 and banded together and took the fight to them. They respected that. Now no support and nothing but anti-government broadcast on our news networks is the best thing for their recruiting you can get. We are showing we are not in it for the long haul we are not willing to do what needs to be done. Osama called this the long was he says we will not stay there they will prevail. Looks like uncle Bin is right.

"We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail"

I love by those words with or without your support I will keep your children safe and leave mine at home to take the fight to them. I will do this for you I will continue to put in long days long deployments, you stay safe and sleep well. I will do all this for AMERICA whether you support us or not I live by the values that have made this country great.

water-boarding and head-slapping our way to violating the very human rights we supposedly fight for...
Being a former Marine I am surprised to see this from you. For one I am of many things a certified interrogator. Head slapping and water boarding are not approved techniques. I have never had to nor seen any of these so called techniques ever done. I do however believe in them and would like to see them approved they do not fall within the bounds of the Geneva Convention.

I know if I am ever captured that I would rather a slap and a little water being poured on me vice having my head chopped off on al-jaCNN so my kids can see it.

The detainees get treated better than the military members that are working there to the point it almost pisses me off.

Oh and for those who think Ho-llery is not qualified. I mean I don't care if we get someone off the street that is fine, like it was said earlier if your elected that makes you qualified. I think she is more qualifier than Rudy and he seems to be tops on my list, especially if he would pick up Condi as a running mate. I just don't want to jump in and by pure personnel feelings bring the troops back and cut the military in half.

Iraq is broke and needs fixing. I mean you tear your roof off your house then decide your buddies are spending too many hours helping you and it cost too much to finish so you just quit. Well that is fine for a few days but then it rains and you have water damage electricity is shot need new sheetrock. That is what will happen if we do not stay and make sure Iraq is fixed. If we leave early and we do not have it fixed well then when Iran moves in and start mass killing Kurds and Sunnis well the UN (stands for US military) will be asked to come back and we will not be able to. Urban warfare is a long tough battle and that my friend is what we will have Somalia of the Middle East. I just want them to do the right thing.

The kurds. At one time my son was involved training the kurds.Took them on missions with them.Nick said they are ruthless. If you didn't belong, they killed,PERIOD.No questons ask.One day 8 car bombs was set off.One was a dud.The kurds[kurdistan rebels I should say].Got to him first, drug him out of the car, pulled him to the middle of the street in front of a market so everyone could see.Put a 9 to back of his head and blew his brains out in front of alot of people. They mean business. If the 1/9 would have got to him first, they would have to arrest him.I know for a fact Nick and the rest of his unit like it better this way.One less to worry about. The rebels take no prisoners.

President Bush flew fighter jets...
That's seriously a far cry from being a complete draft dodger.
"I didn't inhale"....What kind of crap is that?

As for Osama...he's been hiding out in other countries like Pakistan
and all those other countries that claim to be an "ally" since 9/11.
For the first time since it's creation, Predident Bush has defied the UN and it's pygmie, communist/socialist, back stabbing members and went after these
murderers.

We have unleashed a serious infrastructure nightmare apon Al Quieda.
We've killed thousands of potential kingpins and other key elements in
organizations like Al Quieda.  On numerous occasions we have killed 200-300 person mobs (death squads) running the streets murdering whole families with 1 dropped bomb from 30,000 feet.  Poof!  Gone!
thumb_up.gif

We truely are exterminating these rat bastards in rapid fashion.
Something ol' Billy said he was going to do and didn't. What else did Billy boy do?  He downsized the military by about 50%.  One of the units I was in, used to decypher thousands of pages of intell and hours of radio communications from anti-government factions like the Red Army faction, Neo-nazi's, Hezbolla and you guessed it....Al Quieda.  What do you suppose happened to all that intell from 93-01?
On numerous occasion during Clintons term, top military brass briefed Clinton that they knew where Osama was after the bombing of the USS Cole and that if they acted quickly, they would be able to kill him.  But, because Osama was in close proximity to other diplomats from Saudi Arabia, Oman and Yemen, Bill decided to pull the operations and let him go.  If there was any 1 man that could have prevented 9-11 it was BILL CLINTON!  Hands down.

We have accomplished in Afganistan what the Russians couldn't do in 25 years.
Osama is mearly a representation now.  Sure it would be nice to get him personally,
but it's a hell of alot more productive to be dismantling terrorist organizations
on a massive scale.
Bullsh!t! I say Bullsh!t!!!

GWB merely trained to fly fighter jets in his cushy set aside Guard Position. He never flew combat sorties, instead spent his time over the hostile skys of Texas.

I suppose you have never toked up. Never bumped bellies with a girl you wouldn't hold hands with in public?
Clinton just liked the ladies with some "Junk in the Trunk". Monica Lewinsky was simply a cute, young intern with a little extra padding. Nothing wrong with that. Deep down inside, you know that you'd hit it! If you deny it, I'm gonna call you a liar.

Osama could have been obliterated. He was in the cross hairs of US forces in Afghanistan. Suddenly, they were called off and the Hunt for Bin Laden dismantled. Truth is that he IS worth more alive than dead because he serves to fuel the American Media Scare mongering on the nightly news. Fear opens people's pocketbooks and they don't mind spending so much tax dollars on lousy foreign policy.

We haven't accomplished jack shite in Afghanistan. You hear it every night on the nightly scare. The Taliban has regrouped, opium crops are booming, men are afraid to shave their faces and the ladies still wear burkas. The worldwide market for Heroin is back to the level it was in the 80's and 90's in the pre-taliban days. SMACK is BACK Baby. Politicians know where the crops are, have the means to destroy them and choose not to.

It is very obvious that this administration's continuing policy is to cultivate these anti-american terrorist groups, rather than annihilate it, in order to keep the spending up. Got to love the GOP.

you don't get to watch much news....i surprised to see a certified interrogator who isn't aware that our freaking president, your chief and commander, approved waterboarding and head-slapping.

along with over-ruling habeous corpus...and re-writting every law he breaks just after he breaks them...he's an order following, psycho-puppet that needed to be impeached long ago.

The war in iraq is just a distraction as the true enemies of our nation gut it economically....we will be crushed soon...and when the folks out there can't pay their electricity bill any longer?...their TV will go off....then they can step out of their house and see the real world...and bush's devestation to our nations economy and it's people.

Off Topic: Yesterday....I stopped by my parents house...my father orders his meds from canada...he got mad that they apparently raised the price of his perscription by $8...and called them to ask why they raised the price...their response?.....

"We didn't raise the price sir....the price is the same as it ever was...however...your U.S. Dollar has fallen in value."

If his fatazz corporate fatcat bosses his sux up to would've let him?....Bush had a chance to unite the world....instead he divided his own fugging country.

also...i understand that those who serve HAFTA believe what they wanna believe and?...

"What they are ORDERED to believe"

cause i understand that the truth is often times just to painful to accept.

We need good soldiers to believe because if we did not from what I have seen here no one else would.

Sorry for those families whose family have been killed by terrorist since america has already forgotten.

As a DoD certified interrogator we do not get to use such techniques. I know of the discussion for other "agencies" to use such techniques.

When done correctly this does not a violation of any part of the Geneva convention. It can be a very useful tool under certain circumstances. There are times when certain high value targets have valuable information that can keep our soldiers out of harms way. Neither technique puts anymore physical pain upon them than any of us have ever underwent from our parents.

McCain is in charge of overseeing all regulations and uses his experience to make sure we do not permanently damage them, physically or mentally. We adhere to the McCain amendment also to ensure that. Hours of uninterrupted sleep, culturally sensitive food (in fact the lawyers complain the guys have been gaining weight because they eat McDonalds too much upon their own request) and we do not conduct mock executions.

The Kurds have been suppressed and mass murdered for a long time. All of that part of the world deals with things differently. Any eye for your whole family. It is shria' law there. The punishments are harsh and the people follow the lead. I would not do that to someone but it established their dominance and the way they set precidence. Harsh punishment works there. That is why cruel dictatorship works well in that part of the country. I don't think we will fix thousands of years of fighting in a few years.

If we would have listened to Lawrence of Arabia they would be well on their way to one of the bigger superpowers in the world..

please understand it's not "the actors" that i have a problem with...it's the "Script Writters".

The world (and our nation) has much larger problems at hand than dealing with 6 years worth of fighting, dying and occupying a nation whose people (by majority) don't want us there anymore.

Like i initially said...as a former marine i always support our troops...but i do not support this war....which in my eyes and that of many others has turned into an exercise in insanity.

You may also witness many of our future politicians taking a simular mindset and stance.

The real war is being waged right here at home...as middle classers fight every day to stay one step ahead of poverty and losing their homes...as our current political powers continue to cater to the corporate fat cats and continue to lead our nation and it's people towards economic disaster.

China is in the process of buying Bear Stearns...our largest and most formidable advesaries are taking advantage of our weakened state due to bushs war in iraq...which is going no where...while the foundation of of economy gets both bought-out and sold-out from underneath us...by...our very own.

Sorry to speak so poorly of your bosses.

Now, don't we all appriciate that answer better? I know I do.
As for Monica...I have bumped uglies with less than slim and beautiful women, but I'm also not the leader of the free world.

What bothers me most about your rebuttal is this:
You obviously don't respect the skills and training of our Reserve and National Guard elements. You think any moron can make it through flight school? This basically proves my point that your opinion is not based in logic/fact rather than anger/emotion and some sort of conspiracy theorist mentality. Everyone knows it...even you.
As far as being in a "cushy" Military environment...I don't know what branch you served in, but no matter what component you serve in, you went through basic and AIT with no less than blood, sweat and tears and a healthy respect for the Drills that trained you. THAT is what separates people who have served our country in any capacity and draft dodgers and the common civilian population that doesn't have the foggiest idea what it takes.
So, untill the day when Senators and Governers sons and daughters start serving in combat units and spilling blood on the battlefield, you're saying their service means nothing? Am I correct?
Are you still smoking dope?

As for the "Nightly Scare". The main stream media HATES BUSH, HATES THE MILITARY (Unless they can take credit for compassion) and all Republicans, so getting good news from them is pretty much non-existant.
News in general is so pervasive and ethically corrupt now, all it does is fuel mass hysteria and add to what I call, "The Whiner Plague".
However, some of us still have friends and family over there, so I tend to listen to their opinions and experience as well as my own experiences in the Middle East.
There's alot of good books coming out of Kabul right now from writers finally able to have their work published after writing in a 4ft X 4ft hole in the floor for fear of being killed for it. Yeah, imagine that!

OK, now about the drugs and transitions from Poppy fields to other forms of agriculture. Only a very small share of Afghanistan's land (about 15 percent), mostly in scattered valleys, is suitable for farming; about 6 percent of the land is actually cultivated. At least two-thirds of this farmland requires irrigation. Irrigation cannals were dynamited and destryoed by the Taliban for any farmer not growing poppies for illicit drug exportation. Even the legitimate poppy farms used for making pharmacutical grade medications were "convinced" to burn their bridges with legitimate business and trade.
It's going to be a long, slow transition for alot of these farmers to mave back to their homes, rebuild their farms and establish a new crop with confidence. The US is helping to restore that confidence.
Wheat is the most important crop, followed by barley, corn, and rice. Cotton is another important and widely cultivated crop. World class fruit and nuts were among Afghanistan's most important exports. But, because the focus of the Taliban was poppies, other commodities' established trade routes and relationships were severed. It was classic mob style control of the entire system. Any reletively educated person that understands economic balence know this entire process is long and not very glamerous.
So, it's not like the Republicans are blatently refusing to destroy poppy fields with some sort of conspiratal US drug flooding agenda. There are huge social and economic hurtles to overcome.

So, what would you do differently at this point since we're on the subject?
Beuller?

Well that worked as expected.
You even took liberties with what I said putting your own spin on it.

That's cool. I like your style.

No toking up for me these days. Kinda hard to come by seeing as that I am working in IRAQ. Besides, I am already too deep according to my friends so what would be the purpose?

I say that if you are the Commander in Chief and you feel like getting a Lewinsky once in awhile along with dipping your cigar nobody should have anything to say about that. Everybody knows that powerful men stray and sew their oats. Women are drawn to them and don't seem to care about marital status. Hell, even ugly unsuccessful men get some on the side.

As far as the crapping your pants part; I'd rather not talk about my experience with that. I don't think anybody would like to hear it either. You ought to ask Cheney or Rice about it since I here that they are kinda freaky.

Now for the spin. Conspiracy? You can call it what you want to. I am merely illustrating the point with some very obvious and visible habits of the priviledged class. How they seem to view the average American, particularly the lower economic classes as expendable.
The logic and fact is that I do respect the skills of all services, the stress, the sweat, the bruises, the sleep deprivation and exhaustion. However, having served myself, I know that going through OCS is a world away from Basic training for enlisted youths. So, unless you enlisted first then applied for a commission, you will not have the same experience as that of a recruit/trainee. Then, if you procure a politically awarded position, influenced by your cocaine snorting network of skull and bones alumni, in some Low Ops Tempo unit that will not even bust you for being awol or for failure to train, you have no real service and no real accountability.  What kind of resume bullet is that?
Sure, it would be great for political families to send there offspring to serve. Then, they would have a more grounded perspective and base their decisions in as much emotion as the public feels since they would have much to lose. They would see the potential of a "yay" on a war resolution.

I agree with you on the media. However, you have to recognize that the Bush administration manipulated it in the beginning in order to quash descent among the masses. Plenty of respectable public figures got hosed because they spoke out negatively about the president. Only now that everybody in the viewing public knows what a clown he really is, do they bash him. Otherwise they would lose even more face.

The economic reconstruction and rehabilitation of a broken nation is a very arduous task. No question about it. Restoring ties with former trading partners will take time. No argument there. Unfortunately, it seems that the biggest headline maker is the opium industry. Infrastructure upgrades would help maximize yields in other clean crops. Why isn't that happening? Yes mostly it is because of regional rivalries and bickering as well as an ineffective transitional government. It will take a long time, particularly in a non progressive culture.

So, what were you saying about relatively educated?

It's sad that someone would be offended by people questioning the current president and in the same thought trash a former president, only referring to Mr Clinton's blunder in his personal life and never alluding to his nonstop humanitarian efforts since he's been out of office.
Here is one of Clinton's Humanitarian Failures

Between April and June 1994, an estimated 800,000 Rwandans were killed in the space of 100 days
