LANE SPLITTING ALERT: PLEASE SHARE with all of your friends, especially your non-riding friends. This is for the lane-sharing bills in both Oregon and Washington, where these bills are before committees. PLEASE HELP EDUCATE THE PUBLIC! SHARE THIS INFORMATIVE VIDEO MADE IN THE PNW! Btw, I learned how to ride lane splitting in Japan and felt very safe doing it as a newbie.

It is the only way to commute where I live in the bay area. On average it saves me about an hour when I ride to work.

Remind me, 'bay area' commute and Tehachapi? Supposed to be great weekend weather...where are you really?o_O

My official residence is in Tehachapi, but we have an apartment in Emeryville. Weekdays in the city, weekends at the house.

Well then, I'm retired and off every day. My son and his wife work at Dankos. If you ever get a day off up here I know ALL the two lanes in the area. Ever been to Alices?

Anytime. Eville is 40 miles away and I'm about 30. You keep a bike up here?

Lane splitting in Indiana will get someone killed. I don't know why they even have white dashed lines because people don't pay attention! Has there ever been a successful case of a state not allowing lane splitting, and then reversing this? I'd be nervous to be the guinea pig on two wheels.

Educating the motoring public prior to the enactment would be key to its successful (acceptance). What they have to be shown is that sharing lanes is not only safer for motorcycles, it also cuts down on everyone's commute time.

Police motorcycle escorts have been sharing lanes from the beginning ~ if the Sheriff gets to do it, then the rest of the country should a swell . . .

I followed two CHP riders splitting lanes heading towards a semi truck wreck that had all the lanes blocked one day. The line of cars was several miles long. It was like following Moses parting the sea! Before we got there, there must have been twenty more bikes behind us. The stopped traffic pulled wide once they saw the cops coming up beside them.
