I hope his family doesn't come after her civilly and that she handles the situation well. It would be life changing for anyone, but not acting could have been worse.

Have to see what Ok laws are regarding victims in righteous self defense cases to see if she can be sued.

Good for her. I hope she fed him both barrels!

A couple of months ago a guy broke into my garage and then was looking to gain access into the house when I met him at the door with my 9mm. If he had been in the house already, my story would have been much different than just holding him at gun point while waiting for the sheriff to arrive. I would have told my wife to call the ambulance because he had been shot.

It is an entirely different story from what you say you would do, to what you would actually do when faced with the situation. I reverted back to military training, kept my distance, kept my cool and held the criminal until the authorities arrived.

If he had been in the house, he would probably be dead. Hornady hollow point Critical Defense rounds do their job really well in a 9mm configuration.

Good for her, but she should not have posed for that photo with the shot gun. It was a bit tacky if yo ask me. The rest of what she did was fine with me, that what he gets!

I feel no mercy for the dead intruder. The bum was up to no good, without question!

I bet the partner who was with the intruder will actually rethink the thoughts of a life of crime, eh?

I wish more women had the opportunity to protect themselves with deadly force against men who intend to do them harm!

I cant imagine what her life is like. She lost her husband on Christmas day. The intruder tried to force his way in two different doors. She did what she had to do and I hope and pray I never find myself in that situation.

Keep in mind he came over her house days before and asked her to let him in or something like that?
He'd been stalking her for sure for some reason which we will now happily never know :)

Reading stuff like this makes me want to go buy a gun. I have friends that have contacts with distributors. But, I always tell them I don't need one when they offer me good deals.!! I'm gonna have to re-think!!!

Bless that woman, that's what I call motherhood. Some people deserve to be exterminated, that's why the law allows it.

Clean shoot

law works a little differently here the dead mans accomplice would have been charged with the murder of the dead burglar, because he was an accomplice he is just as much to blame for the death as the dead burglar is responsible for his own demise.

Florida law goes even farther. If you an innocent person is attacked and in action of defending yourself you accidentally kill another innocent person the criminal is charged with something like manslaughter because the criminal is the one who initiated the chain of events.

There was a robbery at a gas station here years ago that set the precedent. Cashier fired rounds at robber who was in the doorway and missed him. The rounds struck and killed a woman at the pumps. The robber was charged with her death.

It's generally a good idea not to go into houses when not invited...events will occur.
