I like your way of thinking, I got hooked on Ducatis because I kept seeing them at Barber and I could not help but launch a 5 state search to find the right one, which, as you can tell.... I did! Got a base 1098 for the price of a Busa and after what I experienced on Sat / Sun.... worth every dime!

Like everyone keeps saying, the Busa really is a good entry level, forgiving type bike. I'd have to say the biggest shortfall it has is braking (very heavy member of the sport bike family) so get the lines and pads for sure and get the sag set. After that, lets go play at Barber again in the Spring!

Your 1098 is one beautiful machine! :wow: I kept finding myself standing around, staring at it in the paddock. I'm glad you were able to get that pesky little issue worked out and still be able to run it around for a day. The curse must be broken!

I wonder when STT will post a 2010 schedule...

We'll be back there in the Spring for sure. :beerchug:

I'm trying to work through it. Lot to learn (or it seems so), Looks like the easy to remove painters tape passes tech? I'd a thought it might blow off

DON'T START - It's too addictive and you can't stop!

I fear you're right. I talked to a rider at mid-Ohio last year who did track days every weekend. He was compelled to do it! In the past I've done only 4 - 6 per year because I have to rent a trailer, have a vehicle with a hitch, which is tough with leased cars, and use the Busa at the track, which is more demanding and scarier than riding a 600 - 1000 sportbike.

But I'm planning to change things. I just installed a storage shed which will get stuff moved out of my garage so I can fit a second motorcycle for the track in it. The shed will also allow me to store a trailer. This will set the stage for numerous track days and marital difficulties, because I work out of town 4 days/week and my better half won't look kindly upon my coming home from the road, loading up a bike, and setting off for the track.

Hows this:

"Gee honey, here are some roses, I should prolly get a dedicated track bike so I don't have to run the Busa hard into the turns & scoorch my pads. How 'bout try & find me one of those 2010 GSXRR 1000's, they are all set up, slicks & everything"

good luck... tried that ... :FAIL:

I found half a dozen bikes I want.. really the best option so far was a brand new CBR1000RR for 6895 w/lifetime engine warranty... the 09R1's are still 12FG here!!

Camera bike rider target fixated on the crash and followed him off the course.
