See here we go. When have you ever seen a trailer hitch broken because it was over loaded. Dont you think the vehicle will handle different when you are pulling a trailer?
Not trying to be a bobo about this but almost all the things that you can post about this thing also apply to a trailer.
You are right to an extend, but a trailer does not but the weight all on the hitch it shifts a lot of it to the trailer wheels. You said it best before. Get a trailer if you have the cash, if not it will work, since you used it, you should know. Trailers are not perfect and there are many many kind. Unloading and loading is the biggest problem with the moto unit or a trailer, so be careful.

Don't use it for a Busa, Busa is heavy.  Use a small trailer with a gate.  You can find a good trailer used.
the website says itll go up to 600lbs...and then this guy is selling his and used it for his busa

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymot....WA%3AIT

i emailed him to see if he had any problems with it, havent heard back yet
What's the maximum tongue weight your hitch supports?  Most are in the 500 lb range.

I agree with NE, the Busa is too big.
Except hooken203 did use one with success.

You cant go by the weight disributing rating because that takes a different reciever and is a whole different set up. You need to look at your hitch rating again a class 4 is not that high. But like I said before when have you ever seen one broken because of weight. Not trying to be a know it all here I just did some checking on stuff before I bought mine and thats what I found out. I would hate to see you drop your Busa maybe an R1 or a Harley.
i have a class IV hitch - which is heavy duty - more than class III.....i rechecked...the tongue weight of my reciever hitch is rated at 1,000 lbs, the gross trailering weight is 7,500 lbs, with the weight distributing apparatus (your totally right in that it doesnt apply to this moto tote like you said) im able to get 10,000 lbs...the truck will pull 9,500 lbs and there is no problem with the weight directly on the tongue, as far as both the truck and the hitch are concerned...i was just wondering if the steel on the moto-tote or similar is actually strong enough to do what it says without bending...im not worried about my truck or hitch im worried about the quality of the thing my bike is sitting on...it seems to be ok from what people are saying here....does the bike really bounce alot on the back of that thing??

The thing that bothered me at first when I used it was the teetering back and forth that the whole thing did. It was the slop in the pin on the hitch. I was stopping about every 25 miles to check it but the bike was always tight. When you put it up on there. Tie the front wheel forward by putting the bike as far forward as you can and then wrapping a strap around the front of the carrier and around the wheel.
I first saw one of these at the dealer where I bought my bike a guy hauled a r6 from Chicago and loaded up an Aprillia. He just laid down 17 k for this bike and I thought if its good enough to trust hauling that it will haul my Busa.
Here is my 2 cent worth on this deal. My bike means alot to me I like to keep it looking good so if it fell off of this hauler I would be sick. But its not the only one they made so it can be replaced. Then I could buy one with a turbo on it and get into that 200 MPH class and that might not be a bad deal.

Not only is that thing scary looking it's expensive!

For a little more you can go to TSC and pick up a nice trailer with a fold down expanded metal rear gate. Fold the gate down and ride the bike right up onto the trailer. I'll have to look at the prices when I drive by there tomorrow morning, I believe they run around $500.00 fully assembled, just hook up to your hitch and drive off.

Of course you now have the issue of where to store it plus having to plate it every year.

Also if you only haul your bike around once or twice a year there's always U-Haul. They rent an awesome motorcycle trailer for only $14 a day. It's also got the folding gate you ride up on.
