The $700,000,000,000 bailout is going to happen

This is more like it! If they want to help the economy, the working men and women would help stimulate it alot with this kind of help themselves!

Shamelessly cut and paste by me.

The Birk Economic Recovery Plan

An outstanding plan!
-----------

I'm against the $85,000,000,000.00 bailout of AIG.

Instead, I'm in favor of giving $85,000,000,000 to America in a We Deserve It Dividend.

To make the math simple, let's assume there are 200,000,000 bonafide U.S. Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

So divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals $425,000.00.

My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free.

So let's assume a tax rate of 30%.

Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes.

That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam.

But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.

A husband and wife has $595,000.00.

What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family?

Pay off your mortgage - housing crisis solved.

Repay college loans - what a great boost to new grads
Put away money for college - it'll be there
Save in a bank - create money to loan to entrepreneurs.
Buy a new car - create jobs
Invest in the market - capital drives growth
Pay for your parent's medical insurance - health care improves
Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean - or else

Remember this is for every adult U S Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we're going to re-distribute wealth let's really do it...instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 ( "vote buy" ) economic incentive that is being proposed by one of our candidates for President.

If we're going to do an $85 billion bailout, let's bail out every adult U S Citizen 18+!

As for AIG - liquidate it. Sell off its parts.

Let American General go back to being American General.

Sell off the real estate.

Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here's my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn't.

Sure it's a crazy idea that can "never work."

But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell Economic Boom?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 Billion We Deserve It Dividend more than I do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington DC.

And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because $25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Ahhh...I feel so much better getting that off my chest.

Kindest personal regards,
Birk
T. J. Birkenmeier, A Creative Guy & Citizen

PS: Feel free to pass this along to your pals as it's either good for a laugh or a tear or a very sobering thought on how to best use $85 Billion!!

The sad thing is that this is going to happen wether the "common folk" want it to or not.............

It's a shame what this country has become........

I do not own a home, and feel I in no way have any responsibilty in helping those that do.

I have rented for years due the fact I've not been able to afford a home. Maybe I should of been one of those who believed you could buy a $200,000 home for $750 a month.

I've also heard that $7000.00 figure. What period of time is that spread out over?

I for one am tired of working my a$$ off, 60 hour work weeks, no vacations, a few toys to play with as a resuly of my labor........................meanwhile the rich get richer while I consistently seem to be poorer.

That is a different subject entirely.

The $700 billion bailout WILL NOT help homeowners in trouble. Trust me it WON'T. The money is going to go to Rich FatCats. Don't let them try to sell it any other way. It is a Corporation and Wall Street bail out.

Its gonna be like the economic stimulus plan... of which I have still received nothing... not a penny....

To it in another way, the rich get richer and you and I get poorer...

Same circus Same clowns

"The Birk Economic Recovery Plan" basically says that $85 billion given to AIG equals $425,000 for each U.S. adult (assuming 200 million adults). The email includes much discourse on what Americans could do with this cash instead of using it for corporate welfare.

Of course, the math is wrong. $85 billion divided by 200 million is $425 per person, not $425k.

But take this general idea and assume the bailouts reach $700 billion to $1 trillion. Then the per person amount is $3500 to $5000. Is it interesting at this level?

Would it be more interesting if the amount given each adult American forced you to pay off debt first prior to making other spending choices?

maybe it is time we ALL use our computer sKILLz and email all our Senators and ask them WTH they are actually thinking? and why they are not listening

They thinking how to make more money to themselves out of this mess.

...I say any one who makes less than $200,000 a year pay no taxes for a year.

They cant arrest everyone....so they put a lien on your home......and then?

:brave:

hey that's the video clip that was circulating around the office a week or so ago explaining how our county board is running our county, that is just too funny :rofl:

I just LOVE the way they are calling this a TAXPAYER Investment. Well, if so, WHAT AND WHEN DO I GET AS A RETURN. OH, I know, NOTHING but a HIGHER TAX bill at the end of the Year !!!! Sorry folks, but these companies should just be let to GO UNDER. I don't see any Government Agency looking to help me if MY COMPANY goes Belly Up. OH YEAH, that's right, I don't give BIG $$$$$$ to any Politicians  . So, I guess I'am just in the PAY UP so their BUDDIES can keep on being paid $96,000,000 every 6 years to TRASH a Company and then become a FINANCIAL ADVISOR to a Possible PRESIDENT:cursin:

OH, I completely agree 100% that not a dime of that money will go to the actual people loosing their homes. But it was these people, with institutional backing and misguiding, that created a very large portion of what the bail-out will try and resolve.

That was my point, that we are now going to have to pay for mistakes that were made by other people who WERE NOT ME.

I thought we lived in a capitalist nation, this bailout sounds like socialism to me.

These CEO's from the run away financial companies need to do some jail time. They betrayed their shareholders and now they stand to be rewarded by some other rich fools that run our government.

People that are dumb enough to get a 120% loan to value, do not deserve to be bailed out either. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I have lost a bunch of my retirement fund thanks to this mess.

And Nancy Pelosi has a plan? Be affraid. Very affraid.

Hey, that is a Bi-partisan plan.

That is basically di*k service from both sides, kinda like in an adult film, when the Pizza Guy & the Plumber (Democrats & Republicans) show up at the door, and the freaky little adult movie star (We the People) answer the door!! Well, you know the rest.

Truer words were never spoken. It's a mess and to think this Congress will fix it?
