wow, between rhythym & ace, I think someday I might do this. So ace as I understand,
TOTAL material cost are you about 250$ with your current setup? I will surely have to
do the sub option aswell

I'm at $200 with generic speakers $50 Pioneers , so yeah, about $250
without the speaker enclosures (personal preference +$16) and getting
quality 5.25" Components. Mine are already being delivered, so I can
do a new test run with those next. Sub is a definite for me as well.

Is the sub necessary?

Nah.....but if you like the extra bass, it's all
about having a novelty item. You wouldn't believe how many peeps was starin
at my Busa this weekend cuz I had tunes.

Subwoofer add on should be approximately ~$200 more give or take.
Amp + Sub + wires, probably less.

Do you have a schematic? Is it ipod --> amp --> Speakers?

I would love to get the tunes and the V1 audio while I wear ear plugs. This may be an option.

Harley and goldwings have water proof speakers. have you considered thiers?

Thank You for the breakdown! only thing sucks, I will be deciding between
an 8in subwoofer or 2lb bottle in the hump

Personally , I don't care about waterproof speakers.
I don't see rain that often, and if I ruin these new components
I can afford new one's. So I'm just taking my chances.

If Marine speakers are what you're looking for, I'd consider the
Marine Polk Components on Crutchfield then.

A schematic really isn't necessary, this is seriously something a
monkey can do. The Amp comes with wiring instructions, it's only
7 wires, The first 3 go to the battery, the last 4 goto the speakers.
On a scale of 1 - 10 in difficulty this is really a 1 or 2. (Simple)
1 12V constant
1 12V remote (to let the amp know when to turn on - put a toggle switch in)
1 Ground
4 Speaker wires.

So then you use the Y cable which is Stereo (headphone jack) to 2 RCA female ends.

You really don't NEED the subwoofer to listen to the tunes IMO.

It's nice (I'm sure) , but not necessary.
Then again, I don't need my bike to be any faster either.
So it's all about what is more important to ya.

That looks pretty good bro, sorry I haven't called, I got swamped with work... We should hook up for a ride sometime

I went to Home Depot today, bought a piece of Aluminum bar, JB Weld, and some rubber "O" rings and a construction flat rectangular plate. The aluminum
bar was cut to fit, and I JB Welded the plate to it in a Vice on my table.

It's drying overnight.
Not sure how the steel will do with Aluminum, but we'll see.
Once it cures, I'm using 3M adhesive spray, and putting fabric over
the plate, and I'll mount it to the bike. $12 instead of $90 for a Techmount.

I'll post pics either tomorrow or Tuesday after I get the material to
put on the plate.
