i see no logic in paying for the latest tire technology, that i cannot/should not use on a daily street ride.

....and how can you say anything about them if you have not used them? i have them, i like them and would suggest them to others.

Great thread! I just noticed my rear tire needs to be replaced. I ordered the Shinko 005 190/50...$116.00 delivered (free). Without this website I'd be clueless or worse...suckered into paying too much money. Thanks, all!

Yea great thread. I'm overdue for a set of tires for my B-King, and after seeing the profile of the tires I may just try the 05s. I just can't afford another set of Dunlops at the moment.

I have the 005's on mine now. I have put a little over 400 miles on them so far and love them. I have hit so almost 90 degree turns at 65 and they stick really well.

I have read in several places they are the old Yokohama's as they bought the factory when Yoko got out of motorcycle tires. True/False???

pulled from their website---

Established in 1946, the Shinko Group began as a manufacturer of bicycle tires and tubes in Osaka, Japan that today has become a burgeoning manufacture of rubber products.

In 1998 the Shinko Group purchased the motorcycle tire technology and molds from Yokohama Rubber Co., and began production of these products under the Shinko Tire brand. With manufacturing based in South Korea and design based in Japan, the company has seamlessly combined Japanese engineering and design principles with South Korean production and quality control standards. Today Shinko Tires produces approximately 200,000 motorcycle tires per month.

I have run the 180 series u-soft for several drag seasons and the hook like h$ll, so I love them, but I have heard they are heavier than most other track type tires, and since weight is everything at the strip I am willing to try another tire when this one wears out. Daniel hooked me up on a different tire to try so that will go on when this one is done......so, more to come on this topic later in the season!!

I don't ride in the rain yet if caught in the rain I have 60 miles from work to home. I ride mostly to work but want to start riding at the track 1/4. Aftermarket exhaust custom tune. So far seems there is not a ultra soft tire with tread. Since I have not been to the track yet probably just a good street tire for turning and track would work.

Nver had an issue with my 003's at the track or for everyday driving but then again i olnly agot about 3,000 miles out of that set of tires :( But the price was well worth it. I am running some Perelli Diablo's right now. Gonna see how those work. I prolly won't love them but i couldn't pass up $100 brand new front and rear. But i will be going back to my shinko's here soon!
