Shinko Tires

World must be full of bunch of idiots
because anyone who doesn't ride
on the best tire has to be STUPID ?

:poke:

Lots of us do and survive just fine.

The whole point about the Shinko's
are they work for their intended application .

A dependable tire at an economical price .

So what if they aren't the best tire out there,
neither are touring tires on the street for grip .

Yet a Goldwing is subject to the same environment as a Hayabusa.

They survive on the street just fine .

Harley's too .

Fact is Shinko tires sell .

Fact is no one has died
directly related to Shinko tire failure
or we'd be reading about it
cause it would be big news among riders .

Especially one who teaches on a track .

Not trying to ask them to do more than they should ~ if you buy a higher number they'll last longer . . .

However, that also means that they will not stick nearly as well as the lower number tires !

What I've found out is that the 180 / 55 " HOOK - UP " works great for the drags.

I wouldn't ask that tire to perform well heading up to an Idyllwild ride !

The " ADVANCE " 005 would be my choice for curving roads .

The " APEX " 010 would last me a little bit longer.

Buy whatever you want to go ride with ?

I'm OK~ with a good Shinko.

Just my two cents here.

I’m running the 009 ravens front and back. Have about 2k miles and I love them. I can drag pegs in the corners and have had them in the rain several times with no issue. That have little to no wear. They are only W rated but I hardly ever get past 150 anyway.

I have got to add my 2 cents .

I have been running ( successfully )
the ravens & 005's for 4 years & the thing
that always comes up about Shinko tires is quality .

You never hear Shinko users bash any other tires
but Q2 guys seem to be the worst on any forum
as if those tires were made by Zeus . . .

Are majority of
motorcycle tires good & safe . . . Yes .

I would like anyone to prove
that Shinko tires are not good .

Not just running your yap ,
but put it thru its paces
like I did & still do .

( track , dragon , Tennessee to Pennsylvania & WV back roads )

Also the ravens are SPORT TOURING tires
& really was not designed to hang
with the Q2 on the track ,
but they can hang in
their own envelope
at the track for it
being a harder tire
compared to the
softer tires
out there .

The 005 can hang with the big boys .

Just because a tire cost more
does not mean it any safer
than a less expensive tire ,
you are paying for advertising .

A lot of org members run Shinko tires
& have not heard them have blowouts ,
or any major catastrophic failures
because they went with the Shinko
instead of B-Stone , Mich , Avon etc .

Do some research before you slam a tire that you never used .

Not what a buddy said ,
but what you experienced .

Ultimately get what you want ,
but do not bash a brand unless
YOU have proof that its 100% worthless .

Is this your new "Schtick" Red? Wishing people in ancient threads a happy birthday...??

Where has the "old Red" gone?
The one where he revives a 15 year old thread with a 23 minute video where 17 min 53 sec in they say precisely 7 words pertinent to the actual original post? I think that Red is gone. He's evolved into the disgruntled waiter at the restaurant who is forces to sing happy birthday, but in Spanish and to a different tune so they don't get sued for copyright infringement.

Red is a staple on this site....I get a chuckle when he revives an ancient thread and someone posts on it like it is a brand new one.....

Cheap entertainment....
