Okay folks I thought I would share this.... I found this list and I review it in Jan of every year. A life insurance company surveyed their customers and along with some mental health professionals this is the list they came up with for the top list of regrets for people over 50.... Sometimes you just have to listen and learn from people that have been there already and work to not have the same issues or regrets they did. I look at this list and see if I have made progress in those areas that I find myself weak. Let me know what you think about this list and if you agree or disagree.
  1. Not doing more for others
  2. Not nurturing good relationships
  3. Not ending abusive relationships sooner
  4. Not asking that person out
  5. Letting the passion die
  6. Being an inattentive partner
  7. Getting divorced
  8. Staying married for your kids
  9. Holding onto grudges
  10. Not preparing their kids for independence
  11. Not spending more time with your kids
  12. Spending too little time with your parents
  13. Trying to live up to your parents' expectations
  14. Not being more romantic

  18. Quitting school
  19. Not trying to land that dream job
  20. Working too much
  21. Not saving more
  22. Missing out on investment opportunities
  23. Not taking vacations
  24. Not being more spontaneous
  25. Not eating healthier
  26. Not doing more to maintain your wellbeing
  27. Letting friendships fizzle out
  28. Missing out on the little moments
  29. Not getting to know people better
  30. Not apologizing more
  31. Being ungrateful
  32. Worrying about other people's opinions
  33. Not standing up for others
  34. Or not standing up for yourself
  35. Setting aside your passions
  36. Muting your real personality
  37. Ignoring your instincts
  38. Taking life too seriously
  39. Prioritizing practicality over fun
  40. Being unkind

Well, they seem to have all the regrets summed up.....

I personally try not to dwell on such things.

I don't dwell on them but if you don't have a time of inflection the list might get larger....

There are some interesting strange items on that list and it really makes you wonder what people they surveyed...

It reminds me of the some of the "Family Feud" answers....and my wife and I always say "who ARE these people they survey to get these answers."
