I have Radar Roy's set up on my busa. I'm not totally convinced it works just yet. Only time will tell. I have been hit by laser radar on a couple of occasions since I installed it and have not been pulled over. So maybe it does work. If it saves me one ticket, it's worth it. Escort Radar has a laser jamming system as well but extremely expensive and can only be installed by designated installers. I think it runs around $1,600. I paid a little over $300 for Radar Roys set up.

There is a couple of things I can tell you about Roy's unit. One, is the wire on the reciever must be 20' long. Not designed for a motorbike. You end up with this big spool of excess wire to hide under the cowling. Two, the brain box is not water proof so you have to be very careful about where you mount it so it doesn't get wet. Three, the reciever unit which you will mount just under the nose cowling can be a problem. The unit must be mounted as far forward as you can get it so it does not hit the fender when the forks bottom out. This can be a serious problem if you let the fender hit the reciever and smash it against the cowling. Possibly end up with broken fender or upper cowling. However, I think this could be a problem with any reciever you mount under the cowling. Four, the ticket gaurantee they give you? The company agrees to pay your tickets for the first year if you get a ticket with laser. But, will only pay up to 25 mph over the speed limit. The real catch is, in order for them to pay the ticket, the unit must be installed by a professional installer and you have to mail in the reciept of the installation.

I have some law inforcement friends that agreed to test the unit for me and see if it really works. I'll keep you posted.

The reason I invested in the laser jammer, I got two tickets in the past 12 months by laser. Both for five over within the city limits. City police around here have mostly all went to laser radar and they are hell on wheels about catching you doing 40 mph in a 35 mph speed zone. Just another way of collecting money from the citizens, as far as I'm concerned. But I must say, I haven't had a ticket since I installed the jammer!

Pretty nice read for info purposes only. If you do the math, that full setup would be quite expensive.

Tufbusa, post some pic's of your set-up! Since, I'm also running a lasar jammer on my Busa I can tell you from past personel test "the stuff works"... Not sure about every companys set-up, I am familar with both the Bel LP-904 (Laser Pro) and Passport Escorts ZR3 Shifter. I own both and have tested them extensively against various gun manufactures with great results. Only one word of caution when it comes to Lasar Traffic Guns, Scientific's new gun is suppose to be immune to jamming! Lucky me, they don't have them in my neck of the woods yet. I would love to try one out....

ahhhhh the never ending saga ... theirs - ours ... I got my cordless BEL from him a couple years ago. Still works but sometimes I see the cop before the sucker kicks in kida disappointing. I need to move up to the jammer set up.

A radar detector is one thing, but a jammer?!

Thanks but no thanks, that's GOTOJAIL time in most jurisdictions I know of.

I'll take some photos of my Laser Jammer and post them soon. I just haven't had time to get the photos yet. Before weeks end, I'll get them posted.

Tufbusa, what came with the Radar Roy's kit? Wasn't able to get the laser jammer site.

Let's be honet about what we REALLY need and want - a unit that jams the laser or radar beam and responds a microsecond later with a high-energy pulse of its own that blows the sides out of the cop's radar/laser gun. Now that would be fun ...
