and if you are trying to decide between the 2 bikes go with the suzuki .

yamaha makes shitty products these days . both of my last 2 brand new yamahas  broke while under warranty and yamaha did not make good on the warranty


my new 2004 fjr1300 blew the tranny and yamaha weaseled out on fixing it

check around yamaha went down hill . i was loyal to them for years and they recently went down hill big time . i hear the r1 engines and tranny's blow left and right

man i know i will get dogged by saying this but here goes!! my ridding buddy has a 05 R-1 with a full two brother's exhaust, and a pc111, not even tuned. we all went to the track friday( houston raceway) and he beat the hell out of all the stock suspension bikes. guys who run the track constantly he beat.
i love BUSA'S and i miss mine constantly but the truth is that R-1 is a strong force to play with!! now my friend is about 5-11, 175lbs and he can ride but to date he has taken down 12 busa's. now you can check out whatever video but it all comes down to riders and he can ride and i saw him race guys who can ride and he won. but run was 10.1 @ 147mph

p/s that video is called urban assalt and was out like 4-5 years ago and trust me the R-1 not the same, on the big end yes the busa will KILL but getting there is all the fun in the world

drag_on77598 you answered the question of which bike is quicker  

1/4 mile does not determine which bike is faster(faster means highest top speed)

the busa is FASTER than the R1

if you want to know which bike is quicker it will come down to rider

as far as 1/4 mile goes if both bikes were ridden by the same pro rider on the same day i would put my money on the busa

I know you are not going to believe this, but for the most part the R1 guys say the R1 is better than the Busa. So I guess we will never know because most of the guys on here say the Busa is.
