PDX GSX1300R

Neck is improving. I've been at 165#'s for too long. Time to put on some mass! :muscle:

Ordered some Cortech soft saddle bags. Hoping that they don't flap around too much.

Wow. Seeing such a shiny machine makes mine look absolutely shabby.

Interesting tubular handlebar set up. And where did he put the battery and ECM? All that great space under the cowl.

Part of the reason I wanted a 1300 was the huge enthusiast following and aftermarket parts support. I'm looking forward to many years of tinking.

Thinking about putting the tent and sleeping bag across the top of the saddle bags. Something like this:

it was ridden often and hard cross country

Nice rig. Heading across the country? :) You know, making camp and breaking camp every day can be tough on a motorcycle. Make sure to stop before dark so there’s enough light left to make camp. Do you have a Quick Stand or similar device to lube the chain? Tire repair kit?

I have a plug kit and compressor. Need a Quick Stand. Mostly want to confirm my kit for a potential Alaska attempt early next summer. Hotels are great, no doubt. The set up / tear down takes time an energy.

Maybe I could get all the seat stuff into a water tight bag of some kind. The tank and saddle bags have covers, but I think the intention was basic water resistance, not water tightness. Oh well, it never rains in Washington.

Awesome ride today!

A familiar loop to the north around the lakes. This is fun except for the medium traffic. Just gotta fly under the radar. High of 68*, a few leaves starting to fall. The east out into the forest where, regrettably, despite the sublime scenery and curves, the tarmac is pretty trashed (I will not be lowering my bike, thank you very much). And finally south, there the speeds pick up and for an amazing section of maybe 25 miles, there is PRISTINE new asphalt and giddy hills / corners. I was laughing my azz off as I railed (well, for me anyway) left / right / left. About 140 miles altogether. A great day.
