My wife got 2 different mini lap dogs at different times. She goes for the cute names, I, well I don't.

I called the first one Pitalead....

The second one came as a replacement for a dog which had died. That one I call Church...after the name of the cat in Stephen Kings Pet Cemetery. The one that came back "slightly different" than it was before it died.

My previous dog's name was Suzi from the same root as that above.
Athena is a nice name for a female dobie.
You ought to just feel her out and see what comes out. That is how I named one of my female puppies now. Found myself saying ba(d)jugi bugi and things like that but Badzugi stuck.
