New To Me Busa But Not My First Bike

Greetings everyone, new to the Hayabusa and thought I would check out the forum. I actually already made a few posts but forgot to introduce myself. I have always wanted a Hayabusa and picked this one up for a steal ($1200). Its a 2000 with 17k miles, 1397 big bore kit and a 2008 tail conversion.

When I bought the bike it was not running, the starter was out. Luckily for me the case is not cracked I have a new starter, idle gear and a case saver and i will be putting it all in tomorrow. I am also ordering a 24v starting harness and battery from Schnitz Racing. I know the bike runs because I got it going last weekend I can't wait until its fully operational.

I rode it for about 20 mins and it seems to all be functioning properly and has no check engine codes. What are some common problem you guys have run into and what can I expect to do to this bike mechanically in the next few months.

Second gear, rear subframe, and I believe that model had a pain in the rear fuel filter/pump.

Why second gear and what about rear subframe? The 08 subframe that's on it now is in perfect condition and I have the 00 frame in a box of parts I got with the bike along with original tail and rear pegs?

Sorry bro. I missed the part about the 08 tail conversation. You should be fine there.

Second gear has a tendency to go out on the first gen models. After you get riding it you will not have any problems figuring out if the bike has an issue. You got a great deal on the bike so even if you do have to undercut the gears you will still be money ahead.

I haven't hit real speed but seems as if second gear is fine. up to 35-40 mph will update later thanks for inf nosbig
