The person they talked to would have been Richard from RCC Turbos in Canada..if he and Greag (Boost by Smith could not help in sorting it out it must be pretty fdd up.

What did you do to the ECU before it went in to the shop?
Did you try flashing it yourself or just take it in there without messing with it?

How were the guys at the shop? Did they seem competent?

J

They did speak to Richard and Greg. Determined it was a hardware issue with the data cables. I was able to load the base map bin file provided by Steadmans before I took it down to them. That was about a week before hand. I didn't do anything in between then, but something did happen, somehow. But Going to get some new cables and try again. They are extremely competent. Time and experience is on their side. They do build bikes for the fastest mile and have a large client base locally. Frank at Powerhouse is how I was directed towards them. I didn't just go and google tuners in the area. That would of been suicide!

I am very happy with the level of service that they are offering. They are making calls to the right people to get the job done. I like that instead of them just calling me saying they are having problems and pushing another product. I asked them to do it one way and they are trying to make me happy! (Good business ethics to me?)

Hey good luck with working the kinks out. I too have one of these kits, the no name turbo makes good power, and know of several of them being used on 400+hp bikes for many years. Mine is in the works of becoming of those 400hp monsters right now.

So the official status is bad cable where it goes into the switchbox for those new followers. Sent it back to Boostbysmith yesterday. Hopefully I get a new one soon. I hate being impatient, but I hate not having my bike even more. So, as soon as I get a new cable, back down to the shop and hopefully I can get my bike that day. They said that they have a ruffly finished map and I was making 211whp. But obviously they couldn't flash it. So, not the highest hp, but I would rather have safer, and also 91 octane sucks!

Unless they pulled tons of timing, and/or tune it retarded rich, it will make over 250hp

I am only running 4lbs. I thought those were rated for only 210-220? I just want to be safe. And last!

Hey Brian,

If i remember right you have a Gen II and if you're still running stock compression/valves,etc. then i'm thinking 4 lbs. is about right/max.

(i keep a couple cans of Sunoco 104 unleaded around and mix a gal. with 4 gals. of 91 to bump me up around 94 octane, just to be on the safe side if i plan on rippin' up and down the freeway:thumbsup:)

Where do you buy your good gas at?

I've been getting mine at Southern Counties Lubricants in Orange(1825 West Collins Ave.)and i see they have one at 7954 Dagget St. in San Diego.Crap's not cheap($8.61 per gal.,i picked up 2-5 gal. buckets of Sunoco GT PLUS 104 UNLEADED for $95.66[includes all those damned taxes, etc.]so comes out to $9.56 per gal.)but then neither are pistons nor valves(replaced all of those about 1500 miles ago).Don't have my chart handy at the moment but a gal. per tankfull bumps it up to around 94 octane so 10 gals. will get me around 1500 or more miles.May be someone around who has some 100 at the pump, but i just pre-mix 5 or 10 gals. in jugs and top off my tank at home. With a good tune 91 is fine if you're not roddin' the **** out of it much or just cruisin' the freeways, but since i'm usually good for a few blasts every time i leave the house i feel better with a little more octane.
