My SRP build

Well, latest update. All up and started her up with the base map that was provided. Talk about pig rich! I was able to check leaks. No fuel leaks(biggest worry). Was a huge pain figuring out how to route the fuel lines and not have any kinks after closing. I have some pics I will put up after I get them transferred to help anyone that might need some ideas.

Oil is the only thing I have to battle now. the return to the pan leaked due to the nut on the inside of the pan loosing up! WTF! I put some sealant on it and tightened it down, but just wiggling the oil like a few times got it loose enough to leak. So have to drop the pan once more tomorrow before I head to the dyno on Tuesday morning. Hopefully I can get this taken care of easily. I will def keep taking pictures and thanks again to those who have helped me in my endevour. Special thanks to the the man of infinite wisdom, Frank, at Powerhouse! Your help to use is priceless and a blessing to the .Org.

P.S. Had to wait till payday so I could order some parts from you. Sorry for the delay Frank!

nothing like a good solid weld..... that is how i avoided any oil leaks caused by the return line to the pan... takes a little time and a few bucks in materials.. but well worth it, considering the hassle of constantly having fix leaks..

I second that, you can find a lot of aluminum weld bungs on line for just about any size line, drill a hole and have it welded on. It's worth the piece of mind that it won't leak on your next journey.

Thanks on the weld on idea. I hadn't thought of that yet. If I have anymore after this, that is the next plan!

I dropped off the bike today at Bob's Garage in San Marcos. I was going to hang out while he tuned it, but he was still backed up from thanksgiving and he said he couldn't garauntee anything happening. So since he didn't call today saying it was complete. I should get her back tomorrow. Can't wait to get some seat time! :cheerleader:

Fo Sho! I am having a schedule change at work. So, coming off of nights finally. I will hit you up on Friday or saturday. :beerchug:

Bike is at the dyno shop and I get a horrible call :-/ they are saying that my bike is basically freaking out throwing all sorts of sensor alarms off and on. It is not allowing them to reflash(via ecu editor) they contacted boostbysmith. I'm praying he will see the issue. I flashed it no prob at the house twice. Today saddens me :-/

I have a pretty good idea what the issue is, but we best wait and see how this turns out,

Richard

Thanks Cheeseman for checking the pressure situation and establishing that it is the same, regardless of the restrictor being in or out. So now we know for sure that we can take the turbo feed from a variety of places. I will say this- if you are running a kit where the centerline of the turbo impeller shaft is lower than the oil level itself (like some Velocity kits), I think you would want to take your oil feed from the highest position, to prevent gravity feeding oil through the ring seal of the turbo, and having a smoking problem.

The other thing that needs to be said is that where Steadman is taking his oil feed for the turbo is UNFILTERED oil, directly from the pan, through the pump. I am WAY not crazy about this . . . again, my "precious" turbo - one of the more expensive items of my bike - should get oil that at least has been filtered. That is what you get when you take your feed off the main galley. It does not take much to screw up a turbo shaft . . .:poke:

I thought about this too, my return goes to the pan but the pick up comes after filtration... i even thought about putting an inline filter on the return and the pickup just to prevent bearings from being washed out.

Well hell, that sucks buddy!Hope they get it sorted out soon.

(i'm bummed myself, was all set to pick up a ProCycle lift in Temecula Friday afternoon and found out today they(distributor)stopped stocking them...crap)

So a news update. I am going to pick up my brick tomorrow morning. Shop says they were on the phone with Boostbysmith and someone one at RCC or something. (Wasn't really paying any attention after they said they weren't done) And that the databox is bad(cables). So I am gonna pick it up so that it isn't just sitting down there and ship the cables back to Greg. Hopefully I get a new one soon. I want to hurry so I can get to riding! I am going thru withdrawls!!! It was so nice out the last two days. stupid issues. :poke:

The person they talked to would have been Richard from RCC Turbos in Canada..if he and Greag (Boost by Smith could not help in sorting it out it must be pretty fdd up.

What did you do to the ECU before it went in to the shop?
Did you try flashing it yourself or just take it in there without messing with it?

How were the guys at the shop? Did they seem competent?
