I recently scooped up a 650 V-strom
and it is a extremely fun bike . . .

It has a staintune slip on
and with the way the engine
and gearbox behave it is probably
the most rewarding bike I have ridden .

You sound like Yoda! I knew it, I knew it! :D
:) I know you guy's are poking fun , and it is funny today .
A few things some may not know is the time it takes for me to type out , read , and comprehend written words. Everything I spell is from memory , and windows spell check . Many years ago on the ZRXOA site there were many who gave me a great deal of crap for my poor grammar , and spelling . Back then I had no idea how to hardly work a computer , but wanted to be part of the conversations . Since joining the zrxoa in 2004 i've been slowly improving.
Dyslexia is a tough thing especially when no one ever caught it when you were growing up . My youngest son
Has it also , and is in special classes in school today . I dropped out of high school on my 3rd year , but was only a sophomore for the 2nd semester. 2.5 years as a 9th grader. Let that sink in for a minute .
Its tough being smart , but looking very dumb on paper .
Bill boards on the freeway get me really good with large words .
A GED is NOT a high school equivalent diploma . The test was a joke when I took it in 1993 at a Houston public library . Sometimes spell check can not figure out the word i'm trying to use . So ill have to find a new word or rewrite a sentence to make some sense .
My wife can read so fast it blows my mind . I saw nothing incorrect with Willie quoting me till I took it one word at a time . Then it was ah really. Tape measures teamed with the increments are also fun .

I really admire my friends with a education , and have impressed on my children the importance of getting one. Tough pill to swallow at times thinking of how it could be different . Thank full though for learning a skilled trade .

You went to the University of life and passed with honors I'd say.

Up and to this point, I'd say nobody was aware of your dyslexia so I'd say you've done a remarkable job.

I had a superior in the military who had this as well, once we moved forward into a digital age, he struggled a great deal.

My brother bought the ‘19 strom, loves it. So do I. It has no problem keeping up on the twisties infact on our ride to the tail of the dragon last year the wide handle bars Felt faster on the tight stuff.
I have considered this bike too, but I would not be able to afford another bike. And to give up the feeling of speed, that push by the hand of god when you twist the throttle.
Of course if you are keeping RJ then you get to have your cake, and drive the crap out of it too.

I read visually, meaning that I look at a word and I have to figure out what the shapes mean. Its sort of like seeing in a different language and having to translate it in my mind. Sometimes I can read a whole page and not have a clue what it said. So I also read very slowly. I am sure you all have noticed how bad my typing is as I also have dyslexia.

It's lucky I went to school for architecture because all of these disabilities turned out to be assets in design. Design is all about patterns and apparently my mind is wired to deal with visual stimulus much more efficiently than many people can. I also am very comfortable with numbers, geometry and formulas.

When I type my posts I usually have a Word window open so I can search for words I can't seem to spell. I can actually see the word in my head but I can't figure out how to tell my hands how to type them. That may sound frustrating, but it is how I have lived most of my life - it's just normal to me.

So no insult intended. I bet there are a lot of people here with the same issues. I just thought the phrasing sounded like Yoda, and the force is definitely with you B.

Very nice c10! I have a friend with a vstrom and he loves it. I've never rode one and never thought I'd be on one of this type of bike but I just bought my first adv bike last friday. New 2019 africa twin adventure sports dct. Took it out yesterday for its maiden voyage and had a blast. Blown away by how fast it tips in the corners and is so well balanced. Plus its a automatic. Manual shifting is for sissies lol! This will be the bike I do my Alaska trip on

A former colleague of mine bought a really nice Strom 1k a couple years ago...oddly enough he traded it for a 650 last fall as he found the 1k too heavy.

Those Africa twins are ok...saw a 2020 when I was getting my tires mounted this past spring...

Are all of those automatic?? I seen one awhile back at the dealer and thought I might enjoy one I just don't know that I could get used to the automatic. They are some big bikes and still have their own coolness about them.
