Is it wrong not to use the Clutch ???

I don't clutchless shift all the time, but I do clutchless shift a lot and have never had any problems with worn or broken parts.

The cut of the gear shouldnt have anything to do with shifting since you are not moving the gears. When you shift you are moving the dog rings and sliders. The gears are constantly meshing and therefore not moving around. Gearing, shift throw and synchros make for a clutchless shift.

+1 All the gears are meshed all the time. If you ever get the chance to play with an open motorcycle transmission, then it all comes clear. I bought a VF500 a year back hoping to get it running, engine problems turned out to be more than I wanted to tackle, but I consider the project hugely useful in gaining an understanding of how the internals of the engine work, especially the gears and selectors.
