Jaded? If u know about a little about body building, they use insulin to shred up. Insulin eats all the sugar thus stopping fat storage. But jaded Nah ..a Clown yes!!! face7.gif

I was doing 3 sets of 275 ten times consistently, then my shoulder started hurting, so I laid off a while. Right now, I can press 255 10 times pretty handily, but 275...only for eight. Max? I haven't tried in a long time, but at 49, maxing out tends to hurt things smile.gif.

im benching 315lb 8 to 10 reps @ 4 sets, i could go heavier but i will become very stiff... like to stay loose biggrin.gif

Dayum ! I started this thread and U guys are makin' me feel shamefull ! You guys been wrestling Bulls on the farm in your spare time ? biggrin.gif

ok...ok.

I know a little something about body building, -I just didnt know the cheating part.

I thought insulin was something you put in walls to keep the heat in.

There is a lot of AWFUL strong guys on this board! How come none of you are ever there at my work when I need help moving or loading stuff? In all seriousness, I used to do a 5 rep max of 385lbs in high school...it's been more than a decade. I bet I'd be lucky to make 5 @ 315lbs now.  sad.gif I have a bit of a mechanical disadvantage also since I have long octopus arms. I'm a little over 6'5" and about 330lbs (down from 358lbs @ the beginning of the year) and on my way back down to my preferred weight of 275lbs. I weighed 248-255lbs when I wrestled and played football, but that doesn't to seem to be really realistic at this point. I'm just happy to be losing weight!

I see a lot of excuses... laugh.gif Anyway, I still bench around the 400 to 425 area. I have a buddy of mine who is smaller that me and goes slightly over 500.

I put 350-400, but I have maxed out at 415. My workouts are now generally a total of 8 sets with the middle 2 at 315 (8 reps) unassisted. If I have a partner I will go higher. I'm only 6'3" 215 with long arms. biggrin.gif

was benching 405 about 6 yrs ago then got in a bad motorcycle wreck torn some stuff up now keeping it around the 250 - 300 range so I don't have to have surgery on my shoulders

At 187 lbs in my younger years my best was 425 lbs. My most recent best was about 2 years ago at 350 lbs. Since last year I have not worked out at all but can still get 250 lbs up no problem.

I need to get back in the gym.
