I got my first speeding ticket on a bike saturday. What a bummer. I was going 25 over in a 25 zone. It also was a federal game reserve. The officer said he did me a favor and wrote it up for 11 to 20 over. Saved me 25 dollars. He could have did me even a bigger favor and gave me a warning.
I almost opened my trap and said you should have been here about 20 minutes ago. I was in the triple digits. But something told me not to. ???

But anyway now I have to find a way to get an extra 125.00 out of a tight budget already.
Still not bad for riding a motorcycle for 15 years and just now getting my first ticket.

Sorry Bro, Pay up and move on

Last ticket I got was out of state, I was pissed Raining / Night / Didnt see the sign, Got me for 70 in a 45, Decided I wasnt going to pay the out of state ticket, did you know they can suspend you license because of a ticket you have from another state.

I do Now

Paid the ticket and the $50.00 to reinstate my license

check into how many insurance points that is. Here in N.C. I believe it's 4. Get a lawyer and see if he can get it thrown out. Well worth it. No insurance points that you have to pay every year.

Actually, just the contrary. Unless things have changed since I was a Military Policeman, tickets written by federal officers go through federal court and don't land on your driving record.

Yeah...they love to make it sound like he was doing YOU a favor...
If he wanted to do you a favor, he coulda just kept going to the donut shop
and what would have changed....nada. Except you'd be $125 richer...

How come people never tell us DURING the traffic stop that we could just keep going to the donut shop? Why is it always well after the fact? I've always wanted an answer to this simple question.

Not only can they suspend your license, they can also issue an arrest warrant. Don't ask me how I know.

Well, that depends... if you get a ticket in NC on the Parkway it doesn't go on your driving record because it's federal land. Now I say that meaning a "regular" speeding ticket, nothing way over the posted limit...

Just pay the fine and move on...

Should have explained, it is the officers you have to deal with.

At one point when the lights first went on. I thought about trying to out run him. But the old guy in me told me to stop and not risk getting a bigger ticket or an accident.

I have an Escort X50 with a H.A.R.D. heads up display the warns me well in advance of all the oncoming moving radar units. Has saved me on many occasions in the past. I try to behave myself but it's hard as hell not to got 15/20 over the limit at times.

I'd get an attorney and keep it off my record if I were you?
