Cold weather riding question

I'm with Big O: great info! Thanks to all who contributed.
My only problem now is keeping the Polizei off my case (there's a law here that you can't keep your motor idling). And for anybody that's lived in Germany, everybody is each other's policeman.
I can just image the flak I'm going to catch when I get the 'Bus and that nice HMF high mount warming up at 6:45am ...
Edit: Bandittoo - I work in Heidelberg but live closer to Darmstadt. Your frau is a bit far!
