Any buddy know how to straiten a bent disc?

:poke: if your in a well set up shop, i guess you could use a press to straighten it, then put it in a lathe to finish it off.

or just get a new one.

or you could just ditch it and run 1 front brake.

I think this is where my problem of needing new rotors came into play. I never noticed the rotors being warped until slow braking after the last tire change. I had forgotten to take the rotors off before leaving the wheels with the shop. Since then my warped/pulsing feeling in the handle has only gotten worse and I will be sure to take the rotors off from now on, once I decide on a set of Chalfers or OEM at a discounted rate.

Wish I could afford a set of Glafers or another high end rotor, but $700 for brakes is a very long shot.

What I am about to say may upset a few folks tremendously ... but in my humble little opinion, OEM rotors with HH sintered racing pads will get you great performance. The fancy rotors just don't seem to help a whole lot. I've used both in various combinations on various bikes and the pads is what I would spend the money on first. The fancy rotors come into play if you are doing heaving sustained braking, in which case, you need to dissipate heat faster. If that is the case, then yes, upgraded rotors and also high-temp racing fluid ... in addition to the HH sintered pads.

If you are interested in OEM, I just replaced my stockers on my 2011 with a full Galfer set up, including pads. Less than 1200 miles on 'em. Have something to trade?

I cant afford new brakes at this time. Wish I could but Im afread Im going to eather straiten them or find some used OEM ones.

I agree with everyone else here about replacing it, and for God's sake, put a shirt on your girl, this is a family site..

MMMMMMM porn for the busa lover, seeing a busa all nice and clean without her clothes on!!!!

Well I ended up straightening the front disc. I know a crazy old biker here with a nice shop and some old school tricks. He set up a rotary micrometer marked what we thought seemed like a good unbent spot. Marked it "0". Then with the wheel still on the bike and the bike up on jacks we spun it till we found the spot with the most inward bend. With a wooden dowel and a rubber hammer he tapped it a few times. Then turned the wheel back to the "0" mark. Reset the micrometer and repeated the process. When I went to him the front tire was .100" off when we got to a point that we were happy the disc was at .005" at the worst spot. With a little more time we could have made the disc even straighter. I’ve tested it to 100mph and there is no noticeable vibration. I still want to get a galfer set but cost wise it till will be a year before I can aford a set.

Sorry bud, it's trash. No way you'll ever it get it perfect.

If you need to go on the cheap, than ask the members who's got one sitting on the shelf they can part with. Someone will have.

If you want to make it interesting, you have a great excuse to toss on some Galfer Wave Rotors on the front. Get the fronts, I'll throw in the matched rear for free, rear pads for free, 1/2 price on a set of front pads and I'll ship it to you for free (USA).

Pashnit- Is this offer still standing?
