"Former" U.S. Marine here..basic @ Parris Island circa '77....w/ gaurenteed airwing going in?...6 months training at Naval Air Station Millington, TN....3 months OJT at Pendleton with an OV-10 precision insertion crew..

I didn't understand all the rivalry between navy airmen and marines...i got along with'em just fine.

then?...pemenantly stationed w/ VMA-214...running MD A-4 SkyHawks...

Do you know which department...I was in Communications?

Don, I dont know what department it was for sure, but he handled everything loaded onto the ship. Supplies, etc. Not sure, but I think I remember him mention ordinance as well. Jimmy Lee Wilson, I even remember his service number, T3538050. Several years ago, I helped him look up who was enlisted on the Enterprise during his service.
