7 dead; 12 injured at Fort Hood in Texas

Not many details but here is the text for those of you behind a firewall:

At least seven people are dead and 12 wounded in a shooting at Fort Hood in Texas, the base's public affairs office told NBC News on Thursday.

The official would not give his name nor additional details. It was unknown whether victims are soldiers or civilians. One gunman was reportedly in custody and another was on the loose, NBC News said.

NBC affiliate KCEN in Waco reported that the second suspect may be holed up in a building on the post.

The base was reportedly on lockdown. Two nearby school districts were also being locked down.

Fort Hood is adjacent to Killeen, and 60 miles northeast of Austin. The sprawling complex is home to at least 4,929 active duty officers and 45,414 enlisted. Civilian employees total nearly 9,000.

Ft. Hood is a sprawling post. But That is where BusaJosh just came home to from Iraq either today or yesterday. I hope he or his unit are not involved.
Prayers for the wounded and dead. Sad, very sad.
 
must be pretty fresh news....I am starting to get phone calls about it.
 
To our Fort Hood Brothers: Post up when you can, wishing you and all those involved the best. Just reported there are only two suspects and both have been caught. Hand them over to the soldiers....
 
im working on part of FT Hood at work, this is very sad...
 
now 20 injured and the possiblity of a 3rd suspect... one is caught and 1 is thought to be held up in a building..3rd is a possible
