It happens to EVERYBODY the first xxx miles on the Busa...  It does not matter how many other bikes you've ridden either
Yup, mine did it till about 1500 miles or so, hasn't happened since. Took it to the dealer 2 times and they couldn't reproduce it. But they probably rode it like they stole it. Kinda like I do now.

I removed the shifter and rotated it down 1 notch on the Transmission. This seemed to help a lot. With it down further your foot is more extended and you naturally put more force on the shifter when you move it up. If you just barely pull the clutch in it seems to help too.

I got 600 miles on my '06 and have the 5-6 shift problem. Due to the advise here, I'm not really worried 'bout it. I discovered that if I let the revs build higher before shifting it solves the problem. I had the same problem with my Yamaha FZ1 going from 3-4. Sounds like your ripping the gears, but not doing any damamge. I'll wait to get a few more miles on the bike before I start to fret.

I have found that mine does it as well,600 mi on 06 le.The ratios of the trans are such that there is not sufficient differential of shaft speed for the syncro to work properly.I think synthetic will cure this and have found in the mean time i shift into 6th with no clutch and its smooth. Also i have found this cond only when baby ing the thing.

I own a 2005 Hayabusa and I have experienced the same shifting problems as you all have. I spoke to the wrenches at the dealership that I bought my bike from and have serviced it and they had never heard of this problem. Of course they don't work on many Busa's either! I was told by my mechanic that I didn't need to be in 6th gear ever! Unless of course I was cruising at about 120 or so!

same here 5-6 shift issues ...some times it does it...some times it dont but in my case if i am reving it up (still below the 5,500) and always at the worst moment...it misses and then i look stupid...but it was clunking and grinding now it starting to go away even on the easy shifts
