I did a coolant flush yesterday afternoon(distilled water and white vinegar) as it got up to 37°F!
I had previously drained and cleaned the radiator too, but the first flush and it came out completely clear, so no need for a second.
I have Engine-Ice on the shelf to go in it, but havn't filled it yet.
I also thought the bike sounded kind of loud, and felt an exhaust leak where the slip-on goes on to the header.
Once it cooled I took the muffler off and found this, 2 holes in the end of the factory titanium header, lol.
I assume it drug the road a few times in it's past life, as it was lowered when I got it, and it had doo-doo exhauat tip with a tension screw, and I assume it's pressure and road impact broke out these little pieces.
Oh well, some metal tape on the outside, and a little JB-Weld on the inside will fix it.
Sound rigged? You betcha...but it'll do in the meantime, and 'force' me to buy a full M4 with a cf muffler.

I found one of the brackets that I had for my Ch'ohlins adjustable steering dampner, and was able to mount it in the stock location.
I had bought it with several brackets to try and mount it on the front gas tank bolts, and attach it to the handlebars, but with dirtbike bars I didn't have the clearance.
So, I figured I try it in the stock location.
Worst case I put the stock dampner back on, and I plan to get an Ohlins or Hyper-Pro anyway, but this seems ok for now.

Marty, speaking of Gold Wings......a family friend from another province we haven't seen for a while stopped in yesterday......he normally rides a V-Strom but had a 2008 low (low) mileage Gold Wing fall into his lap which belonged to a school chum of his...

He loves that thing....he's had Gold Wings in the past but this 2008 model far surpasses any of them...it's also had suspension and brake upgrades by the previous owner who was very OCD according to this guy......

I showed him pictures of your Gold Wing and he can very much echo the appeal of these bikes......he said he did a few hour ride last fall and ran into rain and as long as he was moving, he didn't get wet because the aero works so good....he has the stock windshield on it......he was riding with another person on an African Twin and he said that guy looked miserable.....

Mornin' Bill...I still can't reply to threads.
That's pretty cool, as there doesn't seem to be alot of modified Goldwings out there(at least brakes and suspension).
If you ever get a chance to ride it you should see how it compares to the stock one that you rode.
It's supposed to be close to 60° here today and tomorrow, so hopefully it will be, and will melt most of this snow and ice...I miss riding my GW

Still no quote/reply feature for you? Crazy.......

He lives around 2500kms from me so the chances that I ride it are slim.....unless I can talk him into riding it up next summer that is.......

We are under a weather advisory here right now, I see the kids have a snow day as we are supposed to get north of 10 inches of snow....

Everything else works, and the Reply button is there...but nothing happens when I tap on it.
2500kms...sounds like a good bike ride...meet in the middle, lol
And I love the snow...but am suffering from motorcycle withdrawls at the moment, as we've had snow and ice on the ground going on 3 weeks now, which we havn't had in many years.
Sure, winter is cold, and we get snow, but it's usually gone in days to a week, wait a few weeks and repeat.
It's probably been a decade since it lingered so long, so I feel your pain of your Busa sitting in the garage for so long...
